Embellish Coloring Color Trends Challenge & PageMaps Card Contest

Good afternoon!  Well, we thought that it would be the end of our bathroom remodel long before today.  It is officially a week past the scheduled deadline, with two extra days built in for "just in case", but the contractor's part is now stretching into Monday.  Ugh!  I feel defeated and so ready for an end to all this mayhem.  Fortunately, we'll still be able to get in there and tile, put up bead board, and install our sink this weekend.  Unfortunately, painting is going to have to wait.  It's a long story that doesn't end well, but please, if you're ever hiring a contractor out of Kansas City, let me know.  I'll steer you far away from ours!  Anyway, I'd absolutely love to share a sweet, little creation with you all.  I'm so glad that sympathy cards fall few and far between.
I started this card by stamping the lacy edge, in Chocolate Chip ink, near the top edge of the Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face.
I then adhered lots of different, color-coordinating, patterned papers, both horizontally and vertically and including the center, watercolor strip, which had the flowers clear embossed on it and was colored with Cameo Coral, Summer Sun, and Old Olive, watercolor crayons and brushed over with water.  Lots of brown-threaded, straight and zig-zag, machine stitching and a little distressing with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks, prep the card base for hemp twine, which was wrapped, three times, around the card face; tied, in a double bow, just left of center; and embellished with a green button, laced with more hemp twine.
The sentiment piece was die-cut from Whisper White cardstock; distressed with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; stamped, in Pretty in Pink ink, with the flower image and, in Chocolate Chip ink, with the frame and "WITH sympathy" sentiment; and adhered, with foam tape, just to the right of the embellished bows.
A few, strategically-placed Rain Dots complete the look.
Inspiration for this card came from Embellish's Coloring Color Trends Challenge...
and PageMaps' Basic Grey/Flourishes Card Contest.
And before I run, I just had to share this sweet picture of my kiddos enjoying one another's company.  LOVE when they are being silly together, and better yet, when they're getting along!  It puts a HUGE smile on this Mommy's face :)!
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!  And thanks so much for caring enough to pop in!  Hugs!

What a great card, Jinny! A patchwork of fantastic elements! I love the label, too. Sorry to hear about your contractor problems - we had some issues earlier in the year with getting work done but it doesn't sound nearly as awful as yours!! Sending good thoughts!
