Welcome to The Play Date Cafe's Challenge #93!
Our sponsor for this week is Pink Persimmon, for which our very own Denise January, who is debuting her first creation as a part of the PDCC DT this week, also designs.  Please help us give her and our other new DT member, Julie Day, a warm welcome to the team.  It's so good to have you, ladies!
That watermelon, sorbet, and lime color story above just shouts summer and brings an immediate kiss of cool in the midst of the triple digit temps we've been having in my neck of the woods.  Absolutely scrumptious!  Here's what it inspired me to create.
I started this card by trimming the bottom of a piece of coral, pattern, patterned paper with a strip of a watermelon-colored, gingham, patterned paper and filling in the space between them with a stamped, in Cameo Coral ink, with pattern pieces, strip of Whisper White cardstock, which was distressed with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks and anchored, across its top and bottom edges, with red-threaded, straight stitches.  I then adhered a hand-cut, lime, leafy, patterned, paper heart in the bottom center of the prepped piece; machine stitched, with red-threaded, straight stitches, around its edges; adhered the prepped piece to the Whisper White, cardstock, card face; and machine stitched, with red-threaded, zig-zag stitches, around its outside edges.
The "Thanks sew much" sentiment was white embossed in the top center of the card face.
A length of sheer, coral ribbon was wrapped around the card face three times; tied, in a bow, to the right edge of the lime, leafy, patterned, paper heart; and embellished with a coral, felt flower, dressed up with a lime button, laced with white string, a pearl button, mini clothespin, and a vellum butterfly.
Finally, I stamped the dress form, in Cameo Coral ink, on Whisper White cardstock; hand cut it out; and adhered it, with foam tape, to the left of the embellished bow...
to complete the look.
That's all, from here, for today, folks!  Please be sure to stop by the challenge link above to see what you're playing for this week and to check out all the fabulous designs, created by the rest of the Design Team.  Then, you have until Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at 11:59 pm EST, to link up your entries over the The Play Date Cafe.  Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a terrific Thursday!

Lovely! The dressform looks fabulous against the stitched heart and I'm amazed that you were able to fit (gorgeously, I might add) so many color coordinated accents and have such a wonderfully cohesive design! These were really bold colors, you arranged them perfectly!

"Sew" much seamstress goodness in this, Jinny! ;) From the patterned paper to the dressmakers form to the actual stitching around the panel, it is a very clever way to use our colors this week.
