Welcome to Sketches in Thyme's Challenge #53!
And here's what that yummy sketch inspired me to create.
I started this layout by adhering several strips of patterned papers, one of which was punched across its top and bottom edges, haphazardly, across the bottom of the woodgrain, patterned, paper page and anchoring each with both lime-threaded, straight and zig-zag, machine stitches.
I then watered down a puddle of Ivory White acrylic paint and used it to paint a large circle in the bottom right corner of the layout, as well as to add a few splatters, along with some watered down Apple Red acrylic paint, across the design itself.
A little, more, lime-threaded, straight, machine stitching, over the painted circle itself, preps the page for my pictures, which were flanked with a little, Basic Black ink doodling.  Both a green, polka dot, journaling card and red, scalloped label were tucked under the left edge of my far left photograph and used to journal, in Basic Black ink, You and Mickey were instantly the best of friends.  Aug. 25, '07.
A kraft doily was tucked under the top of the pictures and served as a back-drop for my "Love at furst sight" title, which was created from a variety of color-coordinating alphas and partially anchored with lime-threaded, straight, messy, machine stitches, tied off to either end of the words.
Finally, I punched three hearts from a red, polka dot, patterned paper; layered them one on top of the other; machine stitched down their centers with lime-threaded, back-and-forth, straight stitches; and fluffed them up for dimension.
Color inspiration for this layout came from Color Combos Galore's Inspiration Board #202.
Now, it's your turn!  You have until the close of the month, on Wednesday, August 31, 2011, to link up your takes, in the right side column, over at the Sketches in Thyme Blog, to be eligible for not only our Top Three picks, but also a fabulous prize from Technique Junkie.
