Wplus9 August Release Sneak Peek: Day 3

Tuesday, August 2, 2011

So, we're into Day 3 of Wplus9 Design's August Release Sneak Peeks and showing off another, scrumptious, stamp set, called Very Vintage Greetings, and its coordinating, Label Layers 3 die.  Woohoo!  Check it out!
I started this card by clear embossing one of the three, flower images, from this set, on Whisper White cardstock; machine stitching, around its outside edges, with white-threaded, straight stitches; and adhering it to the Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face.
I then trimmed the bottom edge of a strip of teal, doily, patterned paper with a punched strip of teal, gingham, patterned paper and its top edge with a punched strip of yellow, leafy, patterned paper; machine stitched, with white-threaded, straight stitches, to either side of the lower, patterned paper connections and, with white-threaded, zig-zag stitches, between connection of the top, two, patterned papers; and adhered the prepped piece, just below horizontal center, to the card face, before wrapping a length of hemp twine, three times, around its center and tying it, in a double bow, near the left edge of the card face.
The frame was stamped, in Daffodil Delight ink, on a Whisper White, cardstock die-cut; filled in with the stamped, in Rose Red and Wild Wasabi inks, flower image, which, in turn, had its center glittered, as well as the stamped, in Taken With Teal ink, "thanks FOR BEING YOU" sentiment; and adhered, to the right of the hemp twine bow, with foam tape...
to complete the look.
That shows you one of the nine sentiments, two of the three flowers, and one of the two frames in this gorgeous set; but I couldn't resist taking the opportunity, today, to show you all one more of the sentiments and the final flower this set has to offer.  You'll have to come back, tomorrow, for a peek at the other frame, though.  Mwahaha!  This next creation was inspired by Gladys Chia's card, on page 151, in the June issue of CARDS Magazine.
I started this card by trimming the bottom edge of a piece of red, gingham, patterned paper with a strip of punched, black and white, polka dot, patterned paper; adhering it to the Real Red, cardstock, card face; stamping, in Basic Black ink, the lacy edge, from Mehndi Medallions, across the top...
and machine stitching, with black-threaded, zig-zag stitches, between the red, gingham, patterned paper and the its two, prepped edges.
A length of white, seam binding ribbon was wrapped around the horizontal center of the card face; tied, in a dressy bow, near its left edge; and embellished with a red button, laced with a red, Baker's Twine bow.
I then stamped the flower image, in Jet Black ink, in the bottom corner of a Whisper White, cardstock, die-cut label; masked it off; continued stamping the other, two, flower images, as well as a third on Real Red cardstock; stamped, in Real Red ink, the "birthday WISHES" sentiment in the top right corner of the die-cut; framed the prepped piece with a slightly larger, Basic Black, cardstock, die-cut label; and adhered the entire, prepped piece, with foam tape, just to the right of my embellished bow.
Finally, I punched that stamped, Real Red piece with a 1-3/8" Circle punch and adhered it, within the stamped piece from above and being sure to line up the lines of the stamped images, to complete the look.

That's all, for today, folks!  LOVE to have ya'll come back, tomorrow, for Day 4 of Wplus9 Design's August Release Sneak Peeks.  I'm putting Very Vintage Greetings and the Label Layers 3 die to work on a layout.  Until then, please be sure to stop by the rest of the Design Team's blogs to see what they've created, and have a completely wonderful Wednesday!  Oh!  And I'm also linking these beauties up for the Fanatical About Botanical Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.  Go join in the fun!
