CARDS Foxes Challenge

Friday, September 23, 2011

It's a busy day of getting ready for our trip, but I wanted to pop in here to not only show you all a card that was in CREATE:'s CARDS: Fox Challenge yesterday (Thanks ever so much, Paige!), but also share a couple of pics from a special night with Amy, Laurie, and Lynn.
These precious ladies came, to my house, last night, for an enchilada dinner with my family. Then, just us girls hit the plaza for more time to chat and dessert at The Cheesecake Factory.
Mmmm!  That's Dutch Apple Caramel Streusel, and it's one of my all-time faves!  So much so, that I didn't even mind being the only one to lick my plate clean :).  Thanks for such a fun evening, ladies!  It means so much to me to get to share my home and life with you all!  Can't wait for next time!  Now, how about that card I promised?
I started this card by dry embossing a square of Crumb Cake cardstock with the woodgrain pattern; distressing it with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; machine stitching, around its edges, with brown-threaded, straight stitches, tied off, to the front of the piece, at all four corners; and adhering it to the Chocolate Chip, cardstock, card face.  I then cut out one small, scalloped circle from Old Olive cardstock and another, slightly larger, scallop circle from Rich Razzleberry cardstock.  The first was dressed up with a punched, Whisper White, cardstock circle, as well as the stamped, in Really Rust ink, on Whisper White cardstock, and hand-cut fox, and stitched with a length of white, embroidery floss, whose ends were laced through an orange, button blossom and tied in a bow.  It was then adhered, with foam tape, in the center of the larger, scalloped circle, which had been dry embossed with polka dots.
Finally, I stamped the "hi" sentiment, in Chocolate Chip ink, in the bottom left corner of the card face, just inside the stitched frame...
to complete the look.
This cutie was CASEed from another, foxy creation, on page 27, in Stampin' Up's Holiday Mini Catalog.  Thanks, as always, for stopping by, and have a fantastic weekend, ya'll!  Hugs!
