CASE Study #56 & CR84FN38

Tuesday, September 13, 2011

I'm off, in just a bit, to take my hubby to the airport for a work trip (Sigh.); but before I am, I wanted to show you all a little something I created.  So, because I'm typing out of extreme exhaustion, at the moment, let's just get right to it.
I started this card by dry embossing the music notes into a piece of Whisper White cardstock, which I then distressed with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; adhered a triangle of bright pink, polka dot, patterned paper near its bottom left edge; and machine stitched bright-pink-threaded, straight-stitch triangles in both papers, before adhering it to the Basic Grey, cardstock card face.
I then trimmed a piece of dictionary, patterned paper with Basic Black cardstock; machine stitched, with bright-pink-threaded, straight stitches, across its top and bottom edges; and adhered it, horizontally, near the bottom of the previously prepped piece, before dressing it up with a length of ivory lace, topped with a Basic Grey, taffeta ribbon, tied, in a bow, just right of center and embellished with a bright pink button, laced with a white string bow.
Finally, I stamped the scrolled frame, in Basic Black ink, on a Whisper White, cardstock die-cut, which had been distressed with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; filled it in with the stamped, in Melon Mambo ink, "Happy Birthday girlfriend!" sentiment; and adhered it, with foam tape, in the top center of the card face...
to complete the look.
My inspiration for this card came from this beauty, created by CASE Study's September Muse, Julie Lacey, for Challenge #56...
and Create For Fun's Color Challenge #38.
Thanks so much for peeking in, ya'll!  Please don't forget that you have until the close of the day EST today to link up your takes, for Challenge #98, over at The Play Date Cafe.  Then, I'll be back here, tomorrow night, with a brand new, soft and sweet, color story.  Until then, have a fantastic day!  And happy stamping!
