Guest Designing for Scrap It With a Song

Note: If you've come here looking for my PDCC100 - Lawn Fawn and/or SIT Open Challenge post(s), please scroll down.

I was absolutely thrilled, when my Sketches in Thyme teamie, Mindy Gallagher, contacted me and asked if I'd like to join in this week as a Guest Designer for Scrap It With a Song!
My immediate answer was, "Absolutely!"  Then, she filled me on a few of the details, including that our layout was to be inspired by Coldplay's "Yellow".  Well, here's what it led me to create.
I started this layout by spritzing the Whisper White cardstock base, over a star template, with Yellow Daisy Glimmer Mist; stamping the little stars, as well as the hearts, in Daffodil Delight and Chocolate Chip inks, in their respective locations, over the dried page; adhering a piece of red, alpha, patterned paper over said such, just to allow sneak peeks of all these fabulous details around its edges; and machine stitching, with brown-threaded, straight stitches, a double circle around its bottom right edge.  A red, lacy transparency was then tucked under the top center of the red, alpha, patterned paper, before adhering a wide strip of heart, patterned paper, trimmed, down its left edge with a strip of woodgrain, patterned paper, near the left edge of the red, alpha, patterned paper and anchoring it with both brown-threaded, messy, and zig-zag, machine stitches.
I then stamped a snippet of canvas, in Ruby Red ink, with the love definition stamp; distressed its edges with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks (And while my Distress Inks were out, I also distressed the edges of the layout itself.); adhered it near and overlapping the top right corner/edge of the red, alpha, patterned paper; and used it to frame the top right corner of my photograph.
A yellow, checkered, journaling card was tucked under the bottom left of the photograph itself; embellished with a glittered and layered, paper flower, as well as a clear embossed, on Daffodil Delight cardstock, and hand-cut star...
and topped with a monthly die-cut strip, which was run under the photograph itself and decked out, near its right end, with another one of those embossed and hand-cut stars.
The "i love u so" title was partially framed with a portion of a yellow striped, journaling card; anchored with brown-threaded, messy, machine stitches; flanked with stamped, in Ruby Red ink, quotation marks; and further embellished with another, embossed and hand-cut star.
A red, scalloped label, filled in, in Chocolate Chip ink, with, Game Day, November 16, '08...
and a stamped, in Chocolate Chip ink, "Name:/Age:" label, which was filled in with, Ezekiel J., 5 yrs. and Adina E., 2 wks., as well as a little glitter to dress up those hearts, that were stamped way back in the first paragraph, complete the look.
Now, it's your turn scrappers!  You have until the close of the month to link up your "Yellow"-inspired creations over at the challenge link above.  Be sure to check out the Scrap It With a Song Blog for all your prize details, as well as to see an array of other inspired layouts from the DT.  Thanks so much for having me this week, Mindy and Scrap It With a Song ladies!  And thanks ever so much, to you all, for stopping by!  Have a wonderful remainder of your weeks!

Fabulous, Jinny...look how tiny your daughter is! Some of the best scrapbook pages are the photos, however in your case, it's both the pics and the details! This one is stunning in every way!
