Welcome to Sketches in Thyme's Challenge #55!
Check out that yummy sketch!  Oh!  And before I forget, just in case you missed it, you can find our August Top Three and winner here.  HUGE congrats, ladies!  Without further ado, here's what that sketch inspired me to create.
I started this layout by adhering the vintage, bank paper to the red and purple, damask, patterned, paper base and adhered a brown, stripe, patterned, paper, photo strip, horizontally, just below center.  A few, color-coordinating, patterned, paper half-circles, whose centers were dressed up with Very Vanilla, cardstock half-circles, trim the top and bottom edges of the photo strip; and brown-threaded, straight, machine stitches anchor everything.  One of those half-circles was left whole to serve as the foundation for my "moments to treasure" title, which was created from brown letters; red, glitter alphas; and a stamped, in Lavender Lace ink, on a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock, "moments", which was adhered over the "to" and anchored, to either end, with mini brads.
A red, lacy, transparency frame was tucked under my photos near their top right edge...
and a white-embossed, on brown, music, patterned paper, frame near their top left edge.  The latter served as the base to build my element cluster, which consists of a white, lacy flower; a stamped, in Chocolate Chip ink, on Very Vanilla cardstock, and distressed, with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks, leafy image; a hand-cut, "be yourself." die-cut; a "priceless" sticker; and a scrap piece of corrugated cardboard from a leftover, Starbucks' sleeve.
I then hand-stitched, with red Baker's Twine, across the top of my photos and tied their ends, in a double bow, to the right edge of the embossed frame.  A few, rubon, ink splatters...
and a red, "ESTABLISHED", mini label, filled in with the Nov. 11, 2010 date, complete the look.
Color inspiration for this layout came from Color Combos Galore's Inspiration Board #207
Now, it's your turn, scrappers!  You have until the close of the day, on Sunday, September 25, 2011, to link up your takes over in the right-hand column of the Sketches in Thyme Blog.  Please also be sure to stop by the challenge link above to see what you're playing for, this month, from our wonderful sponsor Nikki Sivils...
and to check out the rest of the team's fabulous inspiration.  Thanks so much for dropping by, and have a terrific Thursday!
