Welcome to Sketches in Thyme's September Open Challenge!
Remember that Open Challenge week means you can link up any new creation you've made, using any sketch.  Try out a sketch from a favorite blog, or create your own.  As long as you use a sketch, you can enter the challenge.  I chose Pencil Lines' Sketch 252...
and came up with this.
I started this layout by layering, haphazardly and vertically, a trio of patterned papers over a horizontal row of stamped, in Baja Breeze ink, houses and anchoring them with white-threaded, straight, machine stitches, sewn down each of their long sides, and tied, in knots, to the front of the layout, at either end.  I then machine-stitched, with more, white-threaded, straight, machine stitches, a large circle and tied the ends off, in several locations, to the front of the layout.
A couple of lengths of Pink Sorbet Twine were then strung over the row of houses; anchored, at either end, with staples...
and dressed up with a trio of Twine bows, one of which was strung with an aqua tag, labeled with the November 2, 2008 date.
After adhering pictures, I created the "one of a KIND" subtitle, using a glitter sticker; anchored it with a punched strip of Whisper White cardstock; and dressed it up with a punched, Whisper White, cardstock cloud; a pink, "she's HERE" die-cut; an orange brad; and an aqua button, laced with white string.
Finally, the "homeward bound" title was created with aqua, glitter alphas and dressed up with two, more, punched, Whisper White, cardstock clouds; a pink, "beautiful baby girl", die-cut strip, anchored with a couple of staples; and another, orange brad.
Color inspiration for this layout came from The Color Room's Palette #76: {Her Room}.
Okay, scrappers, now, it's your turn!  Before you're off to creating, please be sure to check out what the rest of the designers have been up to at the challenge link above.  You have until Sunday, September 25, 2011 to link up your takes, on our Open Challenge, Challenge #55, and/or Challenge #56, over in the right-hand column of the Sketches in Thyme Blog, to be eligible to be named one of our Top Three and/or to be in the running for a fabulous prize from this month's sponsor, Nikki Sivils.
Thanks so much for stopping by my little corner of the web!  Have a truly blessed day!
