Wplus9 September Release: Day 3

Tuesday, September 6, 2011

Welcome back for Day 3 of Wplus9 Design's September Releases!  I'm still showing off those two, fabulous, school/office-themed, stamp sets.  So, without further ado, let's just get started.
I started this card by stamping the "Semester/Quarter", background image, from Design Basics: Classroom Backgrounds, in White ink, in the top center of the Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face, which had its bottom left corner rounded and was distressed with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks.
I then trimmed the bottom edge of the stamped image with a punched, across its top edge, strip of Tempting Turquoise cardstock; added the stamped, in Tempting Turquoise and Crumb Cake inks and white embossed, on a trio of color-coordinating, hand-cut, patterned, paper pennants, sentiments, from Class Act, just below its far right edge; and decked out the space between them with a length of twill tape, tied, in a bow, near the card face's left edge.
The subject card was cut out of Very Vanilla cardstock; distressed with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; stamped, in Baja Breeze ink, with the image itself from Class Act; adhered, slightly at an angle, just to the left of the sentiment pennants and tucked under the twill tape bow; and dressed up with a flower embellishment, which I made from aqua, crinkle ribbon; kraft lace; and an aluminum button, covered with a turquoise fabric.
A couple of stamped, in Crumb Cake ink, and hand cut leaves, from Ever After, complete the look.
Inspiration for this card came from Create For Fun's Color Challenge #37...
and the Vertical Sketch Challenge in the Moxie Fab World, which I totally made horizontal and probably broke all the rules.  Ugh!
But that's not all I have, for you all, today.  I mixed up these two sets again with a couple of oldies but goodies from the Wplus9 Design Online Store and came up with this.
I started this card by distressing the edges of a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks.  I then stamped it, in Bashful Blue ink, with the elementary lines from Design Basics: Classroom Backgrounds; in Crumb Cake ink, with the "friend" text from Defining Words; and in Rose Red ink, with the butterfly images from Flora & Fauna I.  It was then trimmed, across its bottom edge, with a piece of plaid, patterned paper; before I machine stitched, with ivory-threaded, straight stitches, around the edges of the two papers' combined edges and adhered to the Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face.
The "NOTES" box, from Design Basics: Classroom Backgrounds, was stamped, in Crumb Cake ink, on a piece of distressed, with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks, Very Vanilla cardstock; filled in with the stamped, in Rose Red ink, "You're The Best" sentiment from Class Act; and adhered, with foam tape, in the bottom center of the card face.
A length of green lace, topped by a Bashful Blue, taffeta ribbon, tied, in a bow, just left of center, trims the space between the two, main papers...
and a little glitter, added to the butterflies, completes the look.
LOVE to have you all come back, tomorrow, for a couple of projects, boasting another, new, September Release, A Pocketful and its coordinating A Pocketful die.  Until then, have a wonderful Wednesday!  And thanks, ever so much, for stopping by!  Hugs!
