Wplus9 September Release: Day 5

Thursday, September 8, 2011

Note: If you've come here looking for my SIT #55 post, please scroll down.

Well, you made it to the 5th and final day of Wplus9 Design's September Releases.  Don't forget that the rest of the team will have lots more projects, using the same goodies you've seen right here over the last week, coming your way, beginning this coming Monday.  So, please be sure to stop by the Design Blog to find out where to hunt for your treasures.  With that said, I've still got one more stamp set, A Pocketful: Halloween, to share, with you all, today.  I've combined it with the A Pocketful die for this first creation and with the A Pocketful stamp set for the second.  Check them out!
I started this card by stamping the bats, in Basic Black ink, in the top center of a piece of Whisper White cardstock, which had been matted with a piece of cross-hatched, orange, patterned paper, as well as a white-threaded, straight, machine-stitch frame.  I then stamped them, once again, on a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock; hand cut them out; and adhered them, with foam tape, over the original images, for dimension.
The A Pocketful die was used to cut out both the large and small pockets from an old pair of jeans, which were, in turn, adhered, in their respective locations, below the bats and double stitched, around their edges, with white-threaded, straight, machine stitches.  The prepped piece was then adhered to the left side of the Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face, before I wrapped a length of hemp twine, three times, around the pockets' center and tied it, in a double bow, laced through an orange, button blossom, just left of vertical center.
Finally, the "Batty for you" sentiment was stamped, in Basic Black ink, just to the top right of the framed image...
to complete the look.
But I was having so much fun with these darling images that I didn't stop there.
I started this card by stamping the pocket image, from A Pocketful, in Night of Navy ink, on a piece of distressed, with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks, Whisper White cardstock; filled it in with the stamped, in Basic Black ink, spiders, from A Pocketful: Halloween, as well as the stamped, in Cherry Cobbler and Basic Black inks, "hello Birthday boy" sentiment from A Pocketful...
matted it with a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock, as well as a couple of machine-stitched, with navy-threaded, straight stitches, frames; and set it aside to prep the rest of the card face.
I then trimmed a strip of black, polka dot, patterned paper, across its bottom edge, with a punched strip of aqua, swirl, patterned paper and machine stitched, with navy-threaded, straight stitches both across its top and bottom edges, as well as to the side of its punched, patterned, paper trim; before adhering it, near the bottom of the Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face, slightly overlapping the most outer, stitched frame.  A length of lace, dressed up with a piece of red, gingham ribbon, tied, in knots, to both edges of the card face, prep the card face for the previously, prepared, sentiment panel...
which was then adhered, with foam tape, inside the outer, stitched frame and overlapping the lacy trim, to complete the look.
I hope that you've come here and been inspired and drawn to the fabulous images that Dawn has designed.  If so, please be sure to run by the Design Blog link above to let Dawn know and head on over to the Wplus9 Design Online Store to pick up your September Release goodies while they're hot!  Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy schedules to visit!  It truly means the world to me!  And have a wonderful weekend!
