PDCC103 - Clear Dollar Stamps

Welcome to The Play Date Cafe's Challenge #103!
Our sponsor for this week is Clear Dollar Stamps, and we LOVE our sponsors!  So, please be sure to pop by their link to see all the fabulous goodies they have in store for you crafty people.
So, here's what that gorgeous, manly, rust, storm, and deep sea color story above inspired me to create.
I started this layout by sponging True Blue, acrylic paint, through a star template, onto my rust, polka dot, base page; spritzing and splattering it with watered-down, Winter White, acrylic paint; and adding a touch of shine with Pearl Glimmer Mist.  I then pieced my patterned papers and pictures, in a grid design, on a piece of Whisper White cardstock; adhered it, just left of center, to my prepped, base page; and anchored it, in and outside its edges, with white-threaded, straight, machine stitches, before trimming it, down its right side, with a painted, with more, Winter White, acrylic paint, border.
I then attached a starry, rust-colored, die-cut strip, horizontally, across the face of the layout, just below my top, far left picture, and trimmed it above with the "Best frIEndS" title, which was made from black, mini, chalkboard alphas, and below with a gray, scalloped label, filled in with the November 24, 2009 date.
My medallion was made from Basic Gray cardstock; embellished with a Cricut-cut, Really Rust, cardstock star; pierced with a white, vintage brad; trimmed with several, hemp twine bows; and used to anchor my "so happy together", sticker subtitle, which was backed with a piece of scrap cardstock and adhered with foam tape.
A trio of rust-colored buttons, laced with hemp twine, and a little, The friends we meet on the path of life make the trip worthwhile. - Author Unknown, quote, complete the look.
Now, it's your turn again!  You have until the close of the day EST, next Tuesday, October 18, 2011, to link up your entries over at the challenge link above.  As always, please also use that link to check out what the rest of team has created just for your viewing pleasure, as well as, to find out what you're playing for this week.  Thanks for peeking in, and have a super, spectacular Thursday!
