PDCC106 - Practicing Creativity

Welcome to The Play Date Cafe's Challenge #106!
Our sponsor for this week is Practicing Creativity...
and I've used Another Year to create this little number.
I started this card by machine stitching, with white-threaded, straight stitches, across the horizontal lengths of a strip of Basic Gray cardstock; adhering it about an inch below the top edge of my Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face, which had been distressed with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks and had its bottom corners rounded; and embellishing its center with a length of gray, taffeta ribbon, tied, in a bow, near the left edge of the card face and dressed up with a pink, button blossom, laced with a hemp twine bow.
I then adhered a square of yellow, design, patterned paper, centered, over the prepped piece, before turning to my Cricut to cut a butterfly silhouette from a piece of Pink Pirouette cardstock.  That Cricut-cut piece was then stamped, in Basic Gray ink, with the number palette; distressed with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; and adhered, with foam tape, over a piece of pink and yellow, plaid, patterned paper, which was, in turn, adhered, with foam tape, in the center of the previously placed, yellow, design, patterned paper.
Finally, I stamped the "HAPPY birthday" sentiment, in Basic Gray ink, just below the die-cut piece and near the far right edge of the card face, to complete the look.
I LOVE how so many of you have really embraced the shabby chic style in your card creations!  They're so inspiring!  And even if you haven't, whether your style be CAS, vintage, country, graphic, or just plain fun, we just love that you all join us from week to week!  Thank you!  So, now, it's your turn!  You have until the close of the day EST, next Tuesday, November 8, 2011, to link up your entries over at the challenge link above.  Please also be sure to use that link to see what the rest of the girls have been up to, as well as to find out what you're playing for this week.  Have fun!  And thanks for peeking in!

Beautiful details, Jinny! I appreciate the stitching most of all, because I KNOW that sewing straight is easier said than done. It's REALLY hard to do. ;)
