Sketchy Thursdays 11.10 & Color Throwdown #167

Friday, November 11, 2011

Good afternoon, and boy, has it turned into a beautiful one in my neck of the woods!  It's supposed to stay warm here throughout the weekend, so we're planning to play in the gardens and get things shut down and cleaned out before the winter months fall hard.  We also need to do a little shopping and check in on Adina's three-year-old pics.  So, for those of you family members and close friends, who are still waiting for them to arrive in your mailboxes, I'll get them out next week.  Promise!  Anyway, before all that fun begins, I have one more paper crafted project to share with you all.  Enjoy!
I started this layout by adhering a bunch of patterned, paper strips, haphazardly and vertically, near the left side of the layout and anchoring them with black-threaded, straight, machine stitches, before adhering my photos.
A "MAY" Bingo card, upon which I circled the "21", was then tucked under the left side of the bottom left picture, which was embellished with a little, red, glittered, die cut, mini frame; a green, die cut tag, laced with hemp twine and etched with the 2010 year; a milk cap; and a color-coordinating, buttoned flower.
I then tucked a striped and scalloped, die cut tag, upon which I journaled, You were such great helpers at our yard sale to raise money for Daddy's mission trip to Mexico.  Ezekiel even made $3 and wanted to contribute it to the cause, under the right side of the top right photograph.
The "YARD sale" title was created from green, plaid alphas and red, alpha brads, one of which was strung with a Blossom Twine bow, over a green and red, vintage price tag and a row of transparency tickets.
A "back to basics" die cut, adhered over the bottom left corner of my journaling tag, completes the look.
Inspiration for this layout came from Sketchy Thursdays' 11.10 Sketch Challenge...
and Color Throwdown's Challenge #167.
I'm also super, stinkin' excited to share that this layout is featured at The Color Room, this week, for Palette #83.  Wow!  Ya'll, I'm beyond words.  What a huge honor!  Thank you to all those who made said such possible!
And just for fun, I had to share a sweet pic of our monthly morning with Brooke and her Mommy and baby brother...
which is just so much sweeter than the way we spent the beginning of the week.  Both of my kiddos had low-grade fevers and sore throats.  They've both still got the sniffles, but things are looking up just in time for the weekend, especially because I'm feeling much better, too!  Somehow, someway, I managed to contract bacterial infections in both of my eyes.  Fortunately, antibiotics and a week without contacts has completely turned that around.  Sigh of relief.
Well, ya'll, have a wonderful weekend, and thanks so much for peeking in!
