Wplus9 Dec./Jan. Release: Day 2

Thursday, December 1, 2011

Welcome back for Day 2 of Wplus9 Design's December/January Release Sneak Peeks!  Today I'm showing off Heartfelt Mix, as well as the new, Love Birds die, designed to coordinate with the Love Birds stamp set.
I started this card by masking off the cent symbol on the small, postage stamp image, from Spring Post, and stamping it, in Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, and Tempting Turquoise inks, on a Whisper White, cardstock square, which had been distressed with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks.  I then filled in their centers with the stamped, in the same ink colors as above, small, heart images from Heartfelt Mix; adhered it to the Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face; and machine stitched, with white-threaded, straight stitches, tied off, to the front of the card face, at all four corners, a large x across the center of the stamped piece.
The "I thought of you..." sentiment was stamped, in Basic Black ink, on a Cricut-cut from Whisper White cardstock, distressed with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks, framed with Tempting Turquoise cardstock, and laced with hemp twine, tag.
The completed "and smiled." sentiment was stamped in Basic Black ink on the inside of the card.
I then tucked the tag into a yellow, seam binding ribbon bow, which was created by staining white seam binding ribbon with Yellow Daisy Glimmer Mist, crinkling it, and tying it in a dressy bow, and adhered, just right of vertical center, near the top edge of the card face.  A silver eyelet graces its center.  It was also pierced with a white, heart, stick pin and flanked with two, color-coordinating, paper leaves.
Now, how about a creation using that new, Love Birds die?
I started this card by machine stitching, with brown-threaded, straight stitches, around the edges of a piece of turquoise, heart, patterned paper which had its top corners rounded and adhering it to the Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face which, too, had its top corners rounded.  I then adhered a length of lace across the horizontal center of the card face and topped it with a length of pink, gingham ribbon, tied, in a bow, near the right edge of the card face and embellished with a white, flower button, laced with a hemp twine bow.
A Valentine's Day, postmarked, journaling card serves as the foundation for the main image, as well as the stamped, in Basic Black ink, "Hey There" sentiment, from Heartfelt Mix, and was adhered, with foam tape, just left of the embellished bow.
The branch was stamped, in Early Espresso ink, on Very Vanilla cardstock; hand cut out; adhered, with foam tape, just above horizontal center, in the vertical center of the card face; and embellished with the die cut, from patterned papers, birds, which were given black, crystal eyes...
and, from Wild Wasabi cardstock, leaves, which were dressed up with a little glitter, both using the Love Birds die.
That rounds out Day 2, ya'll!  Be sure to stop by the rest of this talented team's blogs to see what they've cooked up, just for you all, today.  Then, please, come on back, tomorrow, to see yet another new, stamp set release and its coordinating die.  Thanks, as always, for stopping by!  And have a fantastic start to your weekends!
