PDCC113 - Sweet Stamp Shop

Wednesday, January 4, 2012

I trust you all had a wonderful holiday season!  It's so good to have you back visiting, in 2012, for The Play Date Cafe's Challenge #113!
Our sponsor for this week is Sweet Stamp Shop...
and I've used their Tree Traditions stamp set to capture that gorgeous, juniper, mint, and vanilla color story above.
I started this card by white embossing lots of snowflake images over a piece of juniper, snowflake, patterned paper, which had its top corners rounded.
I then trimmed it, across its bottom edge, with a strip of mint, patterned paper, stamped, in Chocolate Chip ink, with the "let's make cocoa." sentiment, before adhering it to a piece of vanilla, text, patterned paper, which, too, had its top corners rounded, and machine stitching, with white-threaded, zig-zag stitches, around its edges.
Before adhering the prepped piece to the Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face, I distressed the edges of the vanilla, text, patterned paper.  A length of white lace was then adhered, horizontally, just below the snowflake, embossed, patterned paper and topped with a piece of mint, ruffle ribbon, which was tied, in a bow, near the left edge of the card face and embellished with a mint brad, backed with a couple of hemp twine bows, to complete the look.
Now, it's your turn!  You have until the close of the day EST, next Tuesday, January 10, 2012, to link up your takes over at the challenge link above.  Please also use that link to check out what the rest of this talented team has stirred up using their Sweet Stamp Shop goodies, as well as to find out what you're playing for this week.  Also, Sweet Stamp Shop is having a DT Call, so be sure to run check out all the details!  Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a fabulous day!

I love the wintry but not necessarily Christmasy feel to this card, Jinny. Very frosty - a cup of cocoa sounds good! Love the way you combined the challenge colors, adore that snowflake brad! Hope you are doing well - big hugs to you!
