Papercraft Star 86: Leap Year

Wednesday, February 29, 2012

I'm back, today, with Papercraft Star's Challenge 86: Leap Year, to include a frog.
Feel free to be inspired by the photograph, if you so wish.  Here's where this challenge led me.
I started this card by adhering the gingham, patterned paper to a piece of Pool Party cardstock; machine stitching, with black-threaded, zig-zag stitches, around its edges; stamping its top center, in jet Black ink, with the "hoppy birthday" sentiment; and adhering it to the Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face.
I then machine stitched, with black-threaded, straight stitches, the lengths of the top and bottom edges of a piece of polka dot, patterned paper; adhered it, horizontally, across the card face; and dressed up its center with a length of black, gingham trim, as well as a green ribbon, tied, in a bow, near the left edge of the card face and embellished with an aqua button, laced with a couple of hemp twine bows and a leaf, trinket pin.
The mushroom was stamped, in Jet Black ink, in the bottom center of a Whisper White, cardstock die cut, which had been ink distressed with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; water colored with Crushed Curry and Garden Green inks; glittered; and adhered, just right of the embellished bow.  I then topped it with a stamped, in Jet Black ink, on Whisper White cardstock; water colored in Wild Wasabi and Garden Green inks; hand cut out; adhered, with foam tape, just above the prepared mushroom; and dressed up, with a couple of google eyes, frog, to complete the look.
Now, it's your turn!  You have until next Monday, March 4, 2012, at 6:00 am EST, to link up your takes over at the challenge link above.  Please also use that link to check out what the rest of the girls have cooked up, today, just for you all, as well as to discover all the prize details from our permanent sponsor, The House Across the Bay.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and happy Leap Day, ya'll!
