Three in One

We've got a busy day planned today, beginning with Adina's little, dance recital.  Then, we're off to CoCo Key Water Resort for a day of fun as a family!  I'm sure that I'll have plenty of pics to share early next week, but until then, I thought that I'd leave you all, for the weekend, with a card creation that I packed to the brim with stampy goodness.
I started this card by adhering a piece of suede, polka dot, patterned paper to the bottom half of the Pool Party, cardstock card face; ink distressing, with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks, a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock; stamping it, in Crumb Cake ink, with the vintage notepad design and, in White ink, with the doily images; and adhering it to the center of the card face, before anchoring it, around its edges, with red-threaded, zig-zag stitches.
I then hand cut and adhered a bunch of color-coordinating, patterned, paper pennants, with foam tape, just below horizontal center, before topping them with a strip of plaid, aqua, patterned paper, which had been ink distressed with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; stamped, in Real Red and Soft Suede inks, with the cherry images; anchored, across its horizontal top and bottom edges, with red-threaded, straight, machine stitches...
and wrapped with a length of white seam binding ribbon, which was, in turn, tied in a dressy bow and embellished with a Pure Poppy button, laced with a Baker's Twine bow.
The "God doesn't always give us what we want but He always gives us what we need." sentiment was stamped, in Real Red ink, on an ink distressed, with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks, Very Vanilla, cardstock die cut and flanked with two, stamped, in Pool Party ink, flowers, which were embellished with red gemstones, before being adhered, with foam tape, just to the right of the embellished bow.
Inspiration for this card came from The Paper Players' Challenge #82...
The Shabby Tea Room's Week #101: Hi Ho Cherry O...
and The Ribbon Carousel's Challenge 40: Sketch Time.
And before I run, I just wanted to share a few pictures from our field trip to the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art, where we were given a guided tour of the African Art Collection.
Plus, just because they're so cute ;), a few more of my kiddos interacting with the other homeschool families.
This young lady was smitten with Ezekiel.  Matter of fact, in one of the pictures I took of them, she actually laid her head on his shoulder.  Unfortunately, it turned out a little blurry, since I was taking pics without my flash.  So, it'll just be one to add to my personal pages; but man, did it make me realize how fast he's growing up.  Sigh.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a truly fabulous weekend, ya'll!
