Papercraft Star 87: St. Patrick's Day

Wednesday, March 7, 2012

We're back with another, holiday challenge from Papercraft Star, and Challenge 87 boasts a St. Patrick's Day theme.
This was my lucky week to play with images from our sponsor, The House Across the Bay.  I chose this versatile Shabby Chic Polka Dots sheet...
and these darling Peter Rabbit Tags.
And here's what I came up with.
I started this card by printing the green, shabby chic, polka dots on Whisper White cardstock; cutting it out; distressing its edges with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; framing it with a piece of Garden Green cardstock; and machine stitching, with bright-green-threaded, straight stitches, around its edges, before adhering it to the Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face.
The center of the card face was then wrapped with a deep green ribbon, before being topped with a stamped, in Garden Green ink, on a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock, row of shamrocks, which had its edges ink distressed and was machine stitched, across its top edge, with bright-green-threaded, straight stitches.  A length of kraft lace was wrapped, around the card face, just below the stamped strip; and the space between them was filled in with a length of Certainly Celery, grosgrain ribbon, tied, in a bow, near the left edge of the card face.
I then computer generated the "Have a Lucky Day!" sentiment in the bottom center of the Peter Rabbit tag...
printed it on Whisper White cardstock; cut it out; ink distressed its edges; framed it with a piece of Garden Green cardstock; and adhered it, with foam tape, in its respective location, just to the right of the bow.  A trio of green buttons, to which I added a healthy coating of glitter and laced with hemp twine, complete the look.
Now, it's your turn!  You have until next Monday, March 12, 2012, at 6:00 am EST, to link up your takes over at the challenge link above, in order to be in the running for free digital sheets from our permanent sponsor, The House Across the Bay.
Please also use that link to check out what the rest of the girls have been up to this week, and thanks so much for stopping by!  Be blessed!
