Welcome to The Play Date Cafe's Challenge #122!
I am completely in love with this week's charcoal, ash, and butter color story!  It is beyond gorgeous and inspired me to create this.
I started this card by machine stitching, with gray-threaded, straight stitches, around the edges of a piece of yellow, polka dot, patterned paper, before adhering it to the Very Vanilla, cardstock, card face.  I then adhered a strip of two-tone, gray, stripe, patterned paper across the center of the card face and machine stitched, with gray-threaded, zig-zag stitches, across the length of its bottom edge.  Its top edge was dressed up with a length of ivory lace, and the space between the two received a gray, velvet, ribbon treatment, which was tied, in a bow, near the right edge of the card face and embellished with an antique, pewter brad.
I then stamped the silhouettes, in Basic Gray ink, on a Cricut-cut, from Very Vanilla cardstock, frame; distressed its edges with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; machine stitched around its edges with gray-threaded, straight stitches; and adhered it, just to the bottom left of the embellished bow, in the center of the card face, with foam tape.  A hand cut, from vellum, heart softens the whole look.
Finally, I ink distressed the edges of the "My No. 1 Key to Happiness", cardstock, sticker, partial sentiment; stuck it to the bottom left corner of the design; and topped it with the completed, "YOU" sentiment, which was created from gray Sticky Keys and popped up with foam tape.
Now, it's your turn!  You have until the close of the day EST, next Tuesday, March 6, 2012, to link up your takes over at the challenge link above.  Please also use that link to check out what the rest of this fabulously talented team has been up to, as well as to find out what you're playing for from our monthly sponsor, Simon Says Stamp.
