PDCC124 - Mr. Cricut Crazy

Wednesday, March 21, 2012

It's another fabulous week at The Play Date Cafe, and this week we're sporting creations inspired by Challenge #124!
I don't think that I ever would've thought to put these raspberry, harbor, and honey mustard colors together without a little nudge from Jaclyn's gorgeous color story.  But I'm so glad that she gave that push, because I absolutely LOVE them to pieces!  Here's where they led me.
I started this card by piecing a strip of mustard, graphic, patterned paper near the left edge of a piece of blue and brown, polka dot, patterned paper; trimming that blue and brown, polka dot, patterned paper, across its bottom edge, with a punched strip of Rich Razzleberry cardstock; machine stitching, with brown-threaded, straight stitches, the vertical lengths of the graphic, patterned paper; adhering the prepped piece to the Marina Mist, cardstock, card face; and machine stitching, with brown-threaded, zig-zag stitches, around the edges of that same blue and brown, polka dot, patterned paper.
I then wrapped the whole thing, vertically, with a length of white, seam binding ribbon; tied it, in a dressy bow, near the top edge of the card face; and embellishing it with a Rich Razzleberry button, laced with a hemp twine bow.
The horizontal, Whisper White, cardstock panel was stamped, in Basic Black ink, with the clothesline and, in Marina Mist ink, with the cloud images and machine stitched, with brown-threaded, straight stitches, the lengths of its top and bottom edges.  I then stamped the jammies, three times, in Jet Black ink, on Whisper White cardstock; water colored them with Rich Razzleberry ink; hand cut them out; and laid them, in their respective locations, before stamping the clothespins in Basic Black ink and fastening them, with foam tape, in place.  The hearts were stamped, in More Mustard ink, on Whisper White, cardstock, die cut hearts, which were secured to the clothesline panel in the same way as the previous images, just before the entire thing was adhered, with foam tape, to the card face, just below the embellished bow.
Finally, I punched a tab from Whisper White cardstock and stamped it, in Marina Mist ink, with the partial, "Sweet" sentiment and, in Basic Black ink, with the completed, "BABY" sentiment, before securing it just below the stamped panel and right of center.
That's all, from here, for today, folks.  Now, it's your turn!  You have until the close of the day EST, next Tuesday, March 27, 2012, to link up your takes over at the challenge link above.  Please also use that link to see what the rest of the team, as well as a very special guest designer, have been up to with this particular color story and to find out what you're playing for from this week's sponsor, Mr. Cricut Crazy.
Thanks so much for peeking in, and have a fantastic day!

I would never have chosen these colors for a baby card (I'm artistically challenged in that area LOL), but they work so well for this little cutie. It's fabulous Jinny! Hugs!
