SIT #76

Note: If you've come here looking for my PDCC129 - DeNami Design post, please scroll down.

It's time for Sketches in Thyme's monthly two-pager, specifically Challenge #76.
I'm going to say it again.  I LOVE this time of the month!  Two-pagers do, typically, take more time to create, but I adore the stretch in space they provide to really allow my photographs to shine!  Without further ado, here's how the above sketch inspired me.
I started this layout by adhering pieces of multicolored, circle, patterned paper to the centers of Bashful Blue, textured, cardstock, base pages and machine stitching, with black-threaded, straight stitches, around their outside edges.  I then adhered 12" strips of bike, patterned paper near the bottom edges of the previous pieces; topped them with punched strips of green, star, patterned paper; and trimmed them, near their upper edges, with stamped, in Soft Suede ink, on Crumb Cake, cardstock, ink distressed strips, tickets.  All the paper strips were then anchored with black-threaded, straight and/or zig-zag, machine stitches, before they were topped with a multicolored, plaid, patterned paper, which, once again, was anchored with black-threaded, straight, machine stitches.
After adhering pictures, I turned my attention to the left side of the layout...
where I tucked a vintage note card in amongst the photographs to use for journaling, You absolutely love hanging out with your friends from First Baptist Church of Shawnee, especially when it means celebrating Awana starting back up again, after a long, hot summer, with bounce houses, magic and puppet shows, and snow cones.  A "You make me happy", cardstock sticker, popped up with foam tape, rounds out its bottom right corner.
An Aug. 9, 2009, orange, chevron, date tab pulls in one of Ezekiel's favorite colors...
and a green, glitter, Thicker, "block party" title, wrapped up with a little hemp twine and embellished with a wee, blue button, takes care of another.
The right side of the layout shows off the "ADMIT ONE" corner of the multicolored, plaid, patterned paper fabulously...
and boasts a cluster of textural goodies, including a "recreation", bike flashcard...
ivory, string-laced tag; green, "five" journaling sprout; clear, star, trinket pin; orange frame, housing the hand cut, from a template, out of a hot pink, polka dot, patterned paper, star, which was topped with a tin pin, dressed up with a couple of hemp twine bows, as well as the stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a die cut, vellum banner, "CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES" subtitle; and a blue button, laced with hemp twine.  A quartet of brown, numbered, photo corners frame my favorite picture of the bunch and complete the design.
That's all, for this week, y'all!  Now, it's your turn!  You have until the close of the month, on Monday, April 30, 2012, to link up your takes over in the right hand column of the Sketches in Thyme Blog; but before you're off to getting inky, please be sure to use the challenge link above to check out what the rest of the team has created just for your viewing pleasure.  Also, be sure to check out our March winners and future guest designers post here.  They're sporting their best, and you won't be disappointed!  Thanks so much for checking in on me, and have a truly fabulous Thursday!  Hugs!
