Good morning! It's Friday! Yea! I'm so ready for the weekend! And although, it's proving to be a busy one in our neck of the woods, I'm still hoping to sneak in a little time to rest after a week of unrelenting craziness; but before that, I wanted to stop in here to share a pretty, little, shabby number with you all.
I started this card by piecing the two, patterned, paper triangles onto a piece of Pool Party cardstock; machine stitching, with aqua-threaded, zig-zag stitches, around their edges and between their connections; ink distressing the edges with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; stamping the "on your anniversary" sentiment, in Basic Black ink, vertically, in the top right corner...
adhering a length of white lace, the length of the prepped piece, just below horizontal center; topping that lace with a length of white, seam binding ribbon; and tying that ribbon in a dressy bow, as well as embellishing it with a pink button, laced with hemp twine bows, before adhering the prepped piece, with foam tape, to the 4-1/2" square, Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face.
I then stamped the pocket image, in White ink, on a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock; hand cut it out (I totally forgot that Wplus9 has a big pocket die cut. Duh! That would've been so much easier. Sigh. I really, really, REALLY need to organize my dies like this. LOVE!); ink distressed its edges with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks; adhered it, with foam tape, just to the right of the embellished bow; and added a whimsical, little, country bird to its bottom right corner.
The pocket was then filled with lots of textural flowers, including pink, velvet, jewel-studded posies and aqua, paper blossoms, as well as die cut from Lucky Limeade cardstock, ink distressed, and paper crimped leaves, to complete the look.
Inspiration for this card came from The Shabby Tea Room's Week #110: Beautiful Roses...
Little Red Wagon's Challenge #129: Pockets, and Card Patterns' Sketch #161.
I also couldn't resist sharing these pictures of a quick pop into the zoo, that we made on Wednesday, when we were picking up Ezekiel from a homeschool program there. We were just in time to see the seal show, which has been under renovation for months, too. Woohoo!
A quick snack afterwards, and we were on our way home.
Thanks so much for stopping by, y'all! Have a super, terrific, amazing weekend!
