PDCC132 - Want 2 Scrap

Wednesday, May 16, 2012

I'm back with another, fabulous color story over at The Play Date Cafe, specifically Challenge #132.
It's a color splash week, y'all!  That means we're looking for predominately black and white creations with a splash of mustard; and although I tend to overdo the splash a bit, here's what I came up with.
I started this card by stamping the honeycomb background, in Basic Black ink, on a piece of More Mustard cardstock; white embossing the doily image in its center; machine stitching, with black-threaded, straight stitches, around its edges; trimming its center with a hand cut, from black, chain link, patterned paper, banner; and dressing up its top corner with a cluster of black pearls...
from this week's sponsor, Want 2 Scrap.  Thanks ever so much, Want 2 Scrap!
I then wrapped a length of hemp twine, three times, around the banner's middle; tied the ends, in bows, near the prepped piece's left edge; and embellished their combined center's with another, black pearl.
The bumblebee was stamped, in Jet Black ink, on Very Vanilla cardstock; colored in with More Mustard and Bordering Blue inks and a blender pen; hand cut out; dressed up with a hint of glitter; and adhered, with foam tape, at the end of a stamped, in Basic Black ink, on a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock, heart trail, which in turn was adhered, with foam tape, just to the right of the embellished, hemp twine bows.
The entire, prepped piece was then adhered, with more foam tape, to a piece of Basic Black cardstock, before being adhered to the Very Vanilla, cardstock, card face.  Finally, I stamped the "Follow your {heart}, it knows the way." sentiment, in Basic Black ink, in the center of a kraft frame and adhered it, with (You guessed it!) foam tape, in the bottom center of the card face and overlapping the bottom edge of the stamped piece.
There you have it, folks!  You have until the close of the day EST, next Tuesday, May 22, 2012, to link up your takes over at the challenge link above.  Please also use that link to see what the rest of girls have whipped up, as well as to find out what you're playing for this week.  Thanks, as always, for dropping by, and have a great day!

This is gorgeous! Love the sweet little bee wending his way across the card!
We currently have a bee nest near our back garden door, mand keep getting bees in the house, but I just can't bring myself to rid them, as they are so rare these days! I may change my mind if we get stung one day though!
