PDCC133 - Mr. Cricut Crazy

Wednesday, May 23, 2012

It's time for another, fabulous, color story at The Play Date Cafe!  Here's where this week's patriotic, baby blue, denim, and cherry, color story below, combined with the Postage Challenge in the Moxie Fab World, as well as Tuesday Alchemy's Challenge #15: Beautiful Butterflies, led me.
I started this card by trimming the top edge of a piece of postage, patterned paper with a strip of red, damask, patterned paper and its bottom edge with a strip of woodgrain, patterned paper, as well as a punched strip of red, lace, patterned paper.  I then adhered it to the Night of Navy, cardstock frame and machine stitched, with navy-threaded, straight stitches, around its edges and, with navy-threaded, zig-zag stitches, between the connection of the punched strip and the postage, patterned paper.
A length of Bashful Blue, taffeta ribbon was then wrapped, around the prepped piece, between the connection of the postage, patterned paper and the red, damask, patterned paper; tied, in a bow, near the left edge of it; and embellished with a red button, laced with a duet of Baker's Twine bows.
Before it was adhered, with foam tape, to the Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face, I stamped the "Thanking God for you!" sentiment, in Basic Black ink, in the bottom center of the postage, patterned paper.
The sentiment comes from this week's sponsor, Mr. Cricut Crazy.
But one little sentiment just doesn't do a very good job of showing off all Tanner has to offer.  So, please be sure to stop by and see the fabulous selection he has in store for you creative minds.  And until then, here's a better view of the amazing, Christ Is My Life set I received.  Thanks so much, Tanner!
I then painted the chipboard stamp with a mix of Medium Blue and Winter White, acrylic paints; glittered it; adhered it in the center of the postage, patterned paper, just above the stamped sentiment; and filled it in with a layered butterfly, which was die cut from Night of Navy cardstock and polka dot, embossed vellum, as well as anchored with a mini clothespin.
Now, it's your turn!  Here's the delicious, inspiration board, for Challenge #133, that Jax has whipped up, for you all, this week.
You have until the close of the day EST, next Tuesday, May 29, 2012, to link up your takes over at the challenge link above.  Please also use that link to see how the rest of the girls have used their goodies from Mr. Cricut Crazy, as well as to find out what you're playing for this week.  Thanks for taking the time to drop by, and have a terrific Thursday!
