Three in One

Friday, May 25, 2012

Good morning!  We've got a busy day planned, but I wanted to share a sweet, little number, with you all, before we're off running.  So, let's get right to it.  Shall we?
I started this card by stamping a piece of Old Olive cardstock, in White ink, with the lace background and, in Basic Black ink, in its bottom center, with the "Birthday Wishes" sentiment.
I then trimmed its top right corner with a piece of pink, damask, patterned paper, as well as a hand cut, rose, damask, patterned, paper pennant, both of which were machine stitched, with black-threaded, straight stitches, around their edges.  The whole piece was then framed with a piece of Whisper White cardstock and wrapped with a length of white, seam binding ribbon, which I tied, in a dressy bow, near the right edge of the card face and embellished with a lone pearl.
After adhering the prepped piece, with foam tape, to the Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face, I adhered a couple of die cut, from Whisper White cardstock, fences, with foam tape, flush with the card base's outside edges and near the base of the hand cut pennant.
The center of the design was then dressed up with a trio of textural and dimensional flowers, two of which were embellished with both an olive, resin flower and a pink Twinkle Goosebump, and all three of which were flanked with two, die cut, from Old Olive cardstock, ink distressed, and paper crimped, leafy branches, as well as a handful of hemp twine bows.
Inspiration for this card came from The Shabby Tea Room's Week #115: Garden Party...
the Doilies & Lace Challenge in the Moxie Fab World, and Chupa's Sketchbook Saturday Challenge #60.
That's all, for now, folks!  But I'll be back, later tonight, with a rundown of this month's Friday Faves.  Until then, thanks so much for stopping by, and have a beautiful start to your weekends!  Hugs!
