MSS Block Party

Friday, June 8, 2012

It's time for Market Street Stamps'  Block Party, y'all; and I've whipped up a little number, using Houndstooth and Riding By, for my hubby.  He's got a birthday on Sunday ;)!
I started this card by stamping the houndstooth background, in Island Indigo ink, on a piece of ink distressed, Whisper White cardstock.  The bike was stamped, in Jet Black ink, in the bottom center of a journaling card, which I had trimmed along three of its edges with pinking shears; colored in with Basic Black and Chocolate Chip inks and a blender pen; and had its wheels dressed up with a couple of two-tone, brown buttons, laced with hemp twine.
I then stamped the "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" sentiment, in Basic Black ink, rounding the top of the bike's handlebars...
before adhering it, just along its left edge, flush with the left side of the houndstooth  piece; framing the entire thing with Chocolate Chip cardstock; and machine stitching, with brown-threaded, straight, stitches, around the edges of the prepped piece.
A length of brown, grosgrain ribbon was wrapped, vertically, around the prepped piece and tucked under the stamped, journaling card and tied, in a knot, near the top edge of the journaling card.
I then tucked a color-coordinating tag, which I had laced with hemp twine, under the journaling card's right side, just so it was peeking out above and below that journaling card, before anchoring the journaling card securely to the card face; embellishing its top left corner with a paper clip, which had been dressed up with the little, hand-cut, ledger, patterned, paper pennant, as well as a trio of yellow gemstones; and adhering the entire thing, with foam tape, to the Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face, to complete the look.
We'd love to have you join us!  Just create any new project, using MSS stamps.  It can be anything (cards, layouts, altered items, etc.).  Be creative, and have FUN!  And just because Angelica wants to make it easy for EVERYONE to play along, there's even a free digi, in The Neighborhood, just for you.  Woohoo!
Then, link up your project, at the Market Street Stamps Blog, by Sunday, June 10, 2012, at 11:59 pm CST.  One randomly selected participant will win an awesome prize package full of yummy stamps and accessories!  And one show stoppin' papercrafter will be asked to join us for a Guest Designer spot, this round, for the month of July.
So, get creating, y'all!  And thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a blessed, inky weekend!
