Welcome to Papercraft Star's Challenge #100: Here Comes Summer, to include a summer theme in your creation!  When I think of summer, I think camping, a refreshing dip in the pool, cool treats, sunshine, watermelon, etc.  I also think of lots of extra time to go to one of our favorite places... the zoo, which is what inspired the card that I want to share, with you all, today.
I started this card by piecing a piece of ink distressed and punched, across its top edge, notebook, patterned paper onto a piece of ink distressed, yellow, polka dot, patterned paper; trimming its bottom edge, overlapping on its left side, with an ink distressed and punched, across its bottom edge, piece of aqua, floral, patterned paper; and machine stitching, with brown-threaded, straight stitches, around the entire prepped piece's edges and, with brown-threaded, zig-zag stitches, between the punched, patterned papers.  It was then adhered to the Pink Pirouette, cardstock, card face.
The kraft tag was ink distressed; stamped, in White ink, with the heart borders; embellished with an eggplant ribbon, which was tied in a dressy bow and dressed up with an aqua, button blossom, laced with a hemp twine bow; adhered, to the card face, just below the spiral, punched edge; and secured with a simple, paper clip.
I then dressed up the right edge of the papers with a trio of word confetti stickers, which read "GIGGLE", "FUN", and "EXPLORING" and that I felt best described much of our summer ;), and anchored the bottom one with a couple of staples.
A pink, velvet blossom anchors the top of the stamped, in Daffodil Delight ink, on Whisper White cardstock, and hand cut giraffe, which, in turn, anchors the stamped, in Pool Party ink, on Whisper White cardstock, hand cut, and glittered whale.  A lone, stamped, in Elegant Eggplant ink, on Whisper White cardstock, and hand cut owl, as inspired by the photograph below, rounds out the trio.
After adding the finishing touch of a couple of google eyes to my owl, I stamped the "wild about you!" sentiment, in Chocolate Chip ink, in the bottom center of the card face, to complete the look.
Further inspiration for this card came from Embellish's Collage Color Trends Challenge.
Now, it's your turn; and here's your inspiration board for this week, if you so choose to use it.  I've got another ice cream creation coming up in just a couple of days.  So, I decided to try something else "summery" this week.
You have until next Monday, June 11, 2012, at 6:00 am EST, to link up your takes, over at the challenge link above, in order to be in the running to win digital sheets from our permanent sponsor, The House Across the Bay.
Please also use that link to check out what the rest of this talented team has been up to.  Thanks ever so much for stopping by, and have a wonderful Wednesday!  Hugs!
