PDCC136 - Simon Says Stamp

Wednesday, June 13, 2012

Hey, y'all!  It's that time again!  Time for another gorgeous color story from The Play Date Cafe!  And this week's Challenge #136 boast shades of azure, raspberry, and blackberry, which, naturally, enticed me to reach for my new goodies from Wplus9 Design.

I started this card by stamping a piece of ink distressed, white cardstock, in Rich Razzleberry, Wild Wasabi, and Night of Navy inks, with the berry images; framing it with a piece of Brocade Blue cardstock; filling in its center with a polka dot, embossed sheet of vellum, as well as a blue, weave, patterned, paper banner; and anchoring everything with navy-threaded, straight and zig-zag, machine stitches, before adhering it, with foam tape, to the Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face.

I then stamped larger images of both the raspberry and blueberries, in the same inks as above, on ink distressed, white, cardstock die cuts; glittered them; and adhered them, with foam tape, to the ink distressed, white, cardstock, die cut label, which had been stamped, in Brocade Blue ink, with the frame and, in Basic Black ink, with the "Sweet BIRTHDAY WISHES" sentiment.

It was then adhered, with foam tape, to a die cut, from woodgrain, patterned paper, scalloped circle, which, in turn, was adhered, with more foam tape, in the center of the card face.  A white, seam binding ribbon, tied in a dressy bow, was embellished with a raspberry button, laced with a couple of hemp twine bows, as well as a mini clothespin, to complete the look.

Further inspiration for this card came from Card Patterns' Sketch 169.
