The Ribbon Girl #20 & rs#17

Tuesday, June 26, 2012

Good morning!  We're off to the pool in a few, but before that, I wanted to pop in here and share a pretty, little number with you all.
I started this card by polka dot embossing a piece of Butter Mints cardstock; paper distressing its edges; filling its left side with a stamped, in White ink, with the Grace background, piece of Candy Necklace cardstock, which had its top left corner rounded; and adhering it to the Butter Mints, cardstock, card face, before machine stitching, with ivory-threaded, zig-zag stitches, around the edges of the stamped, cardstock piece.
I then stamped the "I Love You" sentiment, in Basic Black ink, vertically, along and near the stamped piece's bottom right edge.
The top half of the card face was filled in with a tea-stained tag, which I rounded the top left corner of and laced with a length of teal ribbon, tied in a bow.
The flowers were stamped, in Basic Black ink, on Cotton Candy and Lollipop cardstocks; hand cut out; paper pieced together, spacing them with foam tape, onto the tag; and flanked with stamped, in Basic Black ink, on Gumdrop cardstock, leaves, which I also hand cut out.  A healthy dose of purple gemstones complete the look.
Inspiration for this card came from The Ribbon Girl's Colour Challenge #20...
and Retro Sketches' Challenge #17.  This is a challenge created by the uber talented Arielle Gordon, that I've been dying to dive in to.  It only took me 17 weeks to get it right ;).
Thanks, again and again, for stopping by!  Have a terrific Tuesday!  Oh!  And don't forget that you have until the close of tonight EST to link up your takes on The Play Date Cafe's Challenge #137.  Then, I'll be back, late tomorrow, with a brand new, juicy challenge to try your hand at.  Until then, happy stamping, y'all!
