SIT #80

Note:  If you've come here looking for my PDCC134 - The Craft's Meow and/or my MSS June/July Release: Day 3 post(s), please scroll down.

It's always so fun to be back with a brand new month and a gorgeous sketch from Sketches in Thyme!  I played with a few of my leftover May Jenni Bowlin Kit goodies for this one.
I started this layout by adhering a piece of a flocked, star transparency onto a sanded and ink distressed piece of woodgrain, embossed cardstock.  I then adhered a piece of green, spiral, patterned paper near the previous piece's bottom right, before trimming it, below and tucked under the transparency, with hand cut, from vintage butter wraps, pennants, as well as a punched strip of yellow, stripe, patterned paper, before anchoring everything with navy-threaded, straight and zig-zag, machine stitches.
My photographs were then matted with White cardstock; adhered, haphazardly, in their respective locations; and topped with the "thanking my lucky {stars} for you" title, which was created from navy alphas; green, grid letters...
and felt, button stars, laced with hemp twine.
The bottom left corner of my pictures was dressed up with a fan flower, made from an aqua, stripe, patterned paper; topped with a "FIVE" journaling sprout, which I also wrote "years" on, because Ezekiel told me that I had to ;); and flanked with two, stamped, in Wild Wasabi ink, on White cardstock, and hand cut leaves, as well as a duet of hemp twine bows.
The journaling tag was cut from patterned paper; ink distressed; dressed up with a length of yellow, stripe ribbon, anchored with a couple of staples; journaled upon with, You are so photogenic when you're in your element.  I love you so much!; adhered tucked under the bottom right edge of the embellished fan flower; and trimmed, below, with a navy, scalloped, February 20, 2009, date label.  A yellow, Mission, KS, location label completes the look.
Color inspiration for this layout came from Jay Gee's Nook's Challenge #20.
Now it's your turn!  Here's your Challenge #80 sketch to get you started.
I can't wait to see what y'all come up with!  You have until the close of the month, on Saturday, June 30, 2012, to link up your takes in the right hand column of the Sketches in Thyme Blog.  Don't forget to stop by that way to see what the rest of the Mavens have cooked up, just for your viewing pleasure, too.  And thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a terrific Thursday!

Jinny, love this layout! You use color so brilliantly and I always find your work so "happy!"

I also wanted to stop by to let you know I received the latest issue of CARDS magazine and your 4th of July card was fantastic!!! I was instantly drawn to it -- and could've recognized it as yours even if I hadn't seen your name first!! :)

Congratulations and thanks for being such a great source of inspiration! :)
