TSTR #120

Good afternoon!  I hope that you all are NOT getting the heat we're getting.  Gracious!  It's HOT... 104 degrees to be exact!  Don't get me wrong.  I'd much rather it be hot than cold any day of the year, but this is just ridiculous!  It's even throwing off my natural sunlight photo shoots.  It was making the yellow, in today's creation, look orange and the mint green look lime.  So, I tried taking my card outside in the shade and think the below rendering looks much truer to life.  Enjoy!
I started this card by spritzing a piece of Marshmallow cardstock, using a star template, with Key Lime Pie Glimmer Mist.
I then stamped over it with a mix of Vivid Pink and Winter White, acrylic paints and a piece of bubble wrap.  Once all that dried, I stamped the "thankful" text, in stamped-off, Basic Black ink, randomly, over everything; framed it with a piece of  Cotton Candy cardstock and machine stitched, with pink-threaded, zig-zag stitches, around its edges.
I then trimmed the prepped piece, just above horizontal center, with a length of white, scalloped lace, which was topped with a length of white, seam binding ribbon, tied in a bow and embellished with a handmade, yellow, fabric flower, topped with a mint button blossom and flanked with a couple of stamped, in Certainly Celery ink, on Marshmallow cardstock and hand cut leaves.
The "A star is born" sentiment was stamped, in Pretty in Pink ink, on Marshmallow cardstock; hand cut out; framed with a piece of hand cut, Cotton Candy cardstock; and pierced with the crystal, star, stick pin, before securing the gorgeous, pearl flourish in place and adhering the prepped piece, with foam tape, to the Sour Lemon, cardstock, card face, to complete the look.
Inspiration for this card came from The Shabby Tea Room's Week #120: Soft & Sweet.
And just for fun and because somehow looking at them makes me feel a bit cooler, here's a few pics of Adina, enjoying the water, on Tuesday.
I also wanted to send out a reminder that you have just a couple more days to link up your takes on Sketches in Thyme's Challenge #80, Challenge #81, and/or Challenge #82.  A new crop of takes, on this month's two-pager, also made their appearances, on the Sketches in Thyme Blog, today, if you're still looking for just the right source of inspiration.  Now, I'm off to deliver Fresh Fruit Bars to my kiddos (They're our favorite!), who are enjoying the cool of the wadding pool, in the shade of our backyard.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have an extra blessed rest of your Thursday!

Wow, 104 degrees! We have had the worst weather in over a century this last month - almost constant rain every day, and this morning, it's raining again! We are only getting 60 or 65 degrees here! So cold for summer!
Stay cool and keep eating thos fresh fruit ices!
