MSS Block Party

Friday, July 6, 2012

Good Friday morning to you all!  It's that time of the month again.  Time for Market Street Stamps' July Block Party!  And I've got a sweet and tasty, little number, to share with you all, today.
I started this card by stamping a piece of ink distressed, Very Vanilla cardstock, in Chocolate Chip ink, with the rows of coffee beans.  I then trimmed the right edge of a piece of yellow, stripe, patterned paper with a punched strip of Chocolate Chip cardstock; adhered the prepped piece in its respective location; machine stitched, with brown-threaded, straight stitches, around its edges; framed the entire thing with a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock; and machine stitched, once again, this time with brown-threaded, zig-zag stitches, around the edges of the entire piece.
The prepped piece was then wrapped, just left of vertical center, with a length of Crumb Cake, taffeta ribbon, which I tied, in a bow, near its top edge and embellished with a yellow button, laced with a couple of hemp twine bows.
The "thanks a latte!" sentiment was then stamped, in Basic Black ink, vertically, along the left edge of the yellow, stripe, patterned paper, before adhering the prepped piece, with foam tape, to the Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face.
A piece of yellow, polka dot, patterned paper, which I machine stitched, with brown-threaded, straight stitches, around its edges, was tucked, with foam tape, under the embellished bow and just to the right of my stamped sentiment.  It was then used to frame my stamped, in Jet Black ink, on an ink distressed, Very Vanilla, cardstock, die cut label, iced latte, which was colored in with Bordering Blue, Crumb Cake, and Soft Suede inks and a blender pen; had its straw colored in Basic Black ink and paper-pieced into place; was given a little glassy shine with Crystal Effects; and finally, dressed up with a touch of glitter, before being adhered, with foam tape, in the center of its yellow, polka dot, patterned, paper frame.
Further inspiration for this card came from the Stamp It! Cards Thank You Challenge in the Moxie Fab World and Mojo Monday's Sketch 248, which I rotated 90 degrees to the left.
I also created this card in support of Sylvia's Favorite Cool Summer Drink Challenge, at Papercraft Star, for our 2nd Anniversary.
Now, it's your turn!  Just create any new project, using MSS stamps.  It can be anything (cards, layouts, altered items, etc.).  Be creative, and have FUN!  And just because Angelica wants to make it easy for EVERYONE to play along, there's even a free digi, in The Neighborhood, just for you.  Enjoy!
Then, link up your project, at the Market Street Stamps Blog, by Sunday, July 8, 2012, at 11:59 pm CST.  One randomly selected participant will win an awesome prize package full of yummy stamps and accessories!  And one show stoppin' papercrafter will be asked to join us for a Guest Design spot, this round, for the month of August.
So, get creating y'all, and have an absolutely terrific weekend!
