Note: If you've come here looking for my Papercraft Star 103: Include a Sun post, please scroll down.

Are y'all ready for a new Market Street Stamps' Paint the Town: Color Challenge 16?  I hope so, because Angelica's whipped up a color story of red-orange, eggplant, boathouse blue, and silver that's sure to please.  I used it to make a birthday card for my son.  He absolutely loves Blast Off!  Matter of fact, he claimed this card for himself, but I wanted him to get a card that he hadn't seen before for his birthday.  So, I used that same set to create the number below, and he was ever so thrilled!
I started this card by stamping a piece of Brocade Blue cardstock, in Brocade Blue ink, with  the Grungy Border background; silver embossing the stars throughout that piece; and adhering it to the Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face.
I then dry embossed a strip of Pumpkin Pie cardstock with the chevron background; machine stitched, with blue-threaded, straight stitches, along both of its long edges; and adhered it, vertically, near the bottom of the card face.  It was then topped with a stamped, in Jet Black ink, "Happy Birthday!", vellum, sentiment strip, which was anchored, at either end, with silver, mini brads.
Finally, I stamped different parts of the rocket, in Basic Black ink, on various, color-coordinating, patterned papers; pieced them together into what you see below (LOVE how easy those wide lines make paper-piecing!); hand cut out the end result; adhered it, with foam tape, slightly at an angle, in the starry sky; and added a touch of Crystal Effects, for shine, to the rocket's window.
Now, it's your turn!  Here's your inspiration board to get you started.
You're playing for a MSS stamp set of your choice, valued at $15 or less.  Can't beat that!  And you have until the close of the day CST, on Monday, July 23, 2012, to link up your takes over at the challenge link above.  Please also use that link to check out what the rest of the MSS girls have been up to with this color story.  Thanks so much for stopping by, and have an absolutely terrific day!
