Papercraft Star 104: Ice Cream

Wednesday, July 18, 2012

We're back with another fabulous, summer challenge at Papercraft Star!  We're looking for ice cream, from a sundae to a cone or even in a dish, creations for this week's Challenge 104.  It's my week to showcase more of those fabulous The House Across the Bay images.  Here's what I came up with.
I started this card by piecing the "OH! FUDGE!" digi, from 207 - Vintage Phrases Vol. 2...
near the top center and lined up with the outside vertical edges of the background, polka dot image from 182 - Shabby Chic Polka Dots.
I then printed the resulting piece on Whisper White cardstock; adhered it to the kraft, cardstock, card face; and machine stitched, with brown-threaded, zig-zag stitches, around its outside edges and, with brown-threaded, straight stitches, across the top edge of the phrase strip...
before stamping the "I'm So Sorry" sentiment, in Basic Black ink, in the top left corner of the card face.
The ice-cream cones were stamped, in Soft Suede ink, on Whisper White cardstock; hand cut out; adhered, with foam tape, in their respective locations; and topped with stamped, from left to right, in Crumb Cake, Pretty in Pink, and Certainly Celery inks, on Whisper White cardstock, and hand cut out scoops.  I then hand drew the fudge with an Early Espresso Stampin' Write marker and used a VersaMark pen to color over the "fudge", before clear embossing, just to get the shine.  They, too, were adhered, to the card face, with foam tape; and the center scoop was topped with a stamped, in Real Red and Chocolate Chip inks, on Whisper White cardstock, hand cut, and glittered cherry.
Finally, I wrapped a length of pink ribbon, around the card face, just below the phrase strip; tied it in a bow; and embellished it with a Pure Poppy button, laced with a couple of hemp twine bows.
Now, it's your turn, y'all!  Here's your inspiration pic, if you so choose to use it.
You have until Monday, July 23, 2012, at 6:00 am EST, to link up your takes, over at the challenge link above, in order to be in the running to win digital sheets from our permanent sponsor, The House Across the Bay.
Please also use that link to check out what the rest of the girls have been up to.  Then, off you go to having a truly wonderful Wednesday!  I can't wait to see what you all come up with!  Be blessed, y'all!
