I started this card by piecing the distressed red and blue, polka dot, patterned papers onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock and machine stitching, with white-threaded, zig-zag stitches, between them. I then trimmed them, near their left edge, with a strip of red, "DIAMOND INK", patterned paper; created the "happy 4th" sentiment from mini, blue alphas; and machine stitched, with white-threaded, straight stitches, around the edges of everything and, with white-threaded, zig-zag stitches, to either side of the "DIAMOND INK", patterned paper, before adhering it to the Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face.
The stars were stamped, in Jet Black ink, once on the card face itself and once near the top of an ink distressed, Whisper White, cardstock, die cut label, before being colored in with Ruby Red and Brilliant Blue inks and a blender pen; glittered; and stuffed into a stamped, in Brilliant Blue ink, on a Whisper White, cardstock die cut, pocket, which was adhered, being careful to line up the originally stamped, on the card face, swirls, with foam tape. The prepped label was then adhered, with foam tape, in the center of the card face.
Finally, I dressed up the label's top left corner with a sheer, red, polka dot ribbon, tied in a bow and embellished with a Pure Poppy button, laced with a Baker's Twine bow.
I'm linking this one up to the Ribbon Carousel's Challenge #60: Independence Day and Card Positioning Systems' Sketch 272, which I rotated 180 degrees to the right.
I'll be back, late tonight, with a brand new challenge from The Play Date Cafe. Until then, for those of you who live in the United States, have a safe and blessed holiday and, for those of you who don't, have an extra blessed Wednesday! Thanks ever so much for stopping by!
