Three in One

Tuesday, July 3, 2012

Good morning!  We're heading to the pool, again, in just a bit.  It's the only way to stay cool with triple digit temps, y'all.  But before that, I wanted to pop in here to share a sweet, little card with you all.  Enjoy!

{Photo Removed for Publication}

I started this card by piecing the strawberry, patterned paper, which had its bottom, woodgrain edge hand cut out, and pink, chicken wire, patterned paper together; stamping the space between them, in Melon Mambo ink, with the lace edge; and framing them with a piece of Pink Pirouette cardstock.  I then machine stitched, with pink-threaded, zig-zag stitches around their combined edges; stamped the "IT'S A CELEBRATION! ...but only if you come." invite, which was flanked with a couple of pink, mini, blossom buttons, laced with hemp twine, in Basic Black ink, in the bottom center of the prepped piece.

A length of white, scalloped lace tops the stamped, lace edge; and a length of pink, polka dot, fabric ribbon, which I tied in a bow and embellished with a bright pink button, laced with a hemp twine bow, fills the space between the two.

The entire prepped piece was then adhered, with foam tape, to the Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face, before stamping the cake, in Pretty in Pink ink, atop a stamped, in Crumb Cake ink, cake pedestal, on a White, cardstock, die cut label, which I had ink distressed with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks.  I then stamped the layers of frosting in Melon Mambo ink and the strawberry, to top it all off and which was later glittered, in Melon Mambo and Lucky Limeade inks, before adhering the prepped piece, with foam tape, just to the right of the embellished bow.

Finally, I stamped the "HAVE A Sweet BIRTHDAY" phrase, in Melon Mambo ink, on a White, ink distressed, cardstock, die cut tag; thread it onto a pink, heart, trinket pin; and anchored it with foam tape.

Inspiration for this card came from the Stamp It! Cards Birthday Challenge in the Moxie Fab World, The Shabby Tea Room's Week #121: You're Invited...
and Dynamic Duos' Challenge #9 (My choice was pink, of course ;).).
I'm also linking this one up to Anitra's Shabby Chic Party Challenge, at Papercraft Star, put on in honor of our 2nd Anniversary.  Remember that you have until Monday, July 9, 2012, at 6:00 am EST, to link up your takes over at the challenge link above.  And be sure to check out the blog link, too, because this is only one of four challenges to keep you creating, and they all come with prizes ;).
I'm also thrilled to share a small handful of recognitions that some of my creations have received.  This card was featured at Little Red Wagon.
This one was reposted, as White on White with Die Cuts, at Weekly Scrapper...
and this cutie, just yesterday, was named one of The Shabby Tea Room's Tea Time Terrific Top Three.  Thanks ever so much to all the designers who made said such possible!  I consider all of the above such an honor, especially in an industry so laden with talent.  Thank you!
Please don't forget that you have until the close of today EST to link up your takes on The Play Date Cafe's Challenge #138.  Then, we'll all be back, late tomorrow, with a brand new color story that absolutely exudes elegance.  Until then, have a safe and blessed 4th of July holiday!  And stay inky, y'all!  Hugs!
