MSS Aug./Sept. Release: Day 1

Monday, August 13, 2012

Welcome to Day 1 of Market Street Stamps' August/September Release!  LOVE that you stopped by!  Angelica and her illustrator crew have whipped up nine (Yes, I said NINE!) stamp sets, for you all, this month.  And let me just tell you, you're about to be wowed!  They are amazing in every way and range from bold and graphic to cute and cuddly, which means there is something for everyone.  So, hold onto your boots, y'all, because it's going to be a wild three days of fun!  We've got a trio of stamp sets, including Teacher Notes and ABC Background, illustrated by the talented Stephanie Washburn, as well as Great Big Greetings, illustrated by our fearless leader, Angelica Suarez, to wet your appetite today, and I was lucky enough to get to play with them all!  Woohoo!  So, grab a tall one, and hang on for the ride; because I've got three creations to share, with you all, today.
I started this card by topping a piece of vintage, class, patterned paper with a piece of ivory, keyboard, patterned paper, as well as a strip of ivory, ruler, patterned paper; adhering the resulting piece to the kraft, cardstock, card face; and machine stitching, with red-threaded, zig-zag stitches, around its edges and, with red-threaded, straight stitches, across the bottom edge of the ivory, ruler strip.
I then wrapped a length of red, gingham ribbon, around the card face, just above the ivory, ruler strip; tied it, in a bow, near the right edge of the card face; and embellished it with a Pure Poppy button, laced with a couple of hemp twine bows.
Now, let's get to that stamping.  The chalkboard was stamped, in Basic Black ink, on both Soft Suede and Basic Black cardstocks; hand cut out; pieced together; stamped, in White ink, with the "Thank you!" sentiment; and adhered, with foam tape, just to the left of the embellished bow.
The desk was then stamped, in Basic Black ink, on Soft Suede cardstock; hand cut out; and topped with a trio of yummy, desk accessories.  All of the desk goodies were stamped, in Jet Black ink, on white cardstock; colored in with colored pencils and mineral spirits; hand cut out; and adhered, with foam tape, atop the prepped desk.  A little glitter completes the look.
Moving right along...
I started this card by stamping the dotted lines, in Tangerine Tango ink, across a strip of ink distressed, Oatmeal cardstock and topping it with a piece of lime, star, patterned paper, as well as as a strip of gray, polka dot, patterned paper.  I then stamped the gray, patterned, paper piece, in its top right corner and in Basic Black ink, with the "I REALLY MISS YOU Call Me" sentiment.
The phones were stamped, in a row, across the bottom edge of the lime, star, patterned paper and embossed, with Melon Mambo embossing powder, before I machine stitched, with black-threaded, straight stitches, around the outside edges of the prepped piece and, with black-threaded, zig-zag stitches, between the embossed and ink distressed pieces.
A length of orange ribbon was then wrapped, around the prepped piece, between the stamped, sentiment strip and the embossed piece; tied, in a bow, near the left edge of the prepped piece; and embellished with a black button, laced with a duet of Charcoal twine bows.  The entire things was then adhered, with foam tape, to the Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face, to complete the look.
But that's not all, folks!  I promised you one more ;).

I started this card by piecing together the neutral, graphic, patterned paper with both the aqua stripe and solid, aqua, patterned papers.  The latter was stamped, in Pool Party ink, with the ABC Background; and the first, in that list above, was stamped, vertically, in Basic Black ink, with the hash stripes, before being adhered to the kraft, cardstock, card face.  I then machine stitched, with black-threaded, straight stitches, around the edges of the prepped piece and, with black-threaded, zig-zag stitches, between the two, aqua papers.

The "You've been on my HEART" sentiment was then stamped, vertically, in Basic Black ink, in the bottom right corner of the card face and glittered.  I cannot tell you how much I LOVE these big, bold greetings, and I've only used three of them!  Needless to say, they'll be making their way into an awful lot of my future creations ;).

A length of Pool Party, seam binding ribbon was wrapped, vertically, around the card face, before anchoring a hand cut, from a template, felt heart, over every previously described layer, with black-threaded, straight, machine stitches; tying that ribbon, in a dressy bow, just above the felt heart; and embellishing it with a couple of hemp twine bows, as well as a white, paper blossom.

That's all, for today, stampers, but it's just the beginning.
I've got two more creations, coming your way, tomorrow and another on Wednesday.  Plus, some of the other MSS Designers have whipped up all kinds of fabulous creations, just for your viewing pleasure.  So, be sure to run over to the Market Street Stamps Blog to see just where to head next, and please don't forget to leave them lots of love.  We just love hearing from YOU!  Thanks so much, and have a super blessed work week!  Hugs!
