Paper Sweeties: Pre-Release

Welcome back for Paper Sweeties Pre-Release!  It's always such a pleasure to have you stop by!  You'll be able to get your inky, little fingers on all fifteen of this month's stamp sets tomorrow; but until then, I've got a couple of cards to get you ready for fall.  For this first card, I've gotten Abigail all decked out, for back to school, using So Proud of You.  Check it out!
I started this card by piecing together a piece of black cardstock above a strip of aqua, ledger, patterned paper, as well as a piece of ivory, text, patterned paper.  I then filled the space between the two patterned papers with a die-cut strip of red, glitter paper.  Finally, a strip of Oatmeal cardstock was stamped in Jet Black ink and colored, with colored pencils and mineral spirits, with a sweet, little stack of books, before being adhered, just above the aqua, ledger, patterned paper and, in turn, to the kraft, cardstock, card face.
I then machine stitched, with black-threaded, zig-zag stitches, around the edges of the prepped, paper piece and, with black-threaded, straight stitches, along both long sides of the stamped, cardstock strip.
A length of Pool Party seam binding ribbon was then wrapped, around the card face, just above the die-cut, glitter strip; tied, in a dressy bow, near the left edge of the card face; and embellished with a color-coordinating, polka dot, chipboard button, laced with hemp twine bows.
Abigail was stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a piece of white cardstock, which had its edges distressed with Tea Dye and Antique Linen inks.  I then colored her in with colored pencils and mineral spirits and gave her a skirt and top, which were stamped on color-coordinating, patterned papers, before being hand cut out and adhered in their respective locations.  Her shoes, too, were stamped, on white cardstock, in Basic Black ink, and hand cut out.  A little shadowing gave way to the Real Red, cardstock frame and little, paper clip detail.  She was then adhered, with foam tape, just to the right of the embellished bow.
A stamped, in White ink, "So Proud of You" sentiment completes the look.
This second card was created in honor of my absolute favorite holiday :).
I started this card by piecing together a vintage, advertisement, patterned paper with thanksgiving text, as well as yellow, gingham, patterned papers; machine stitching, with red-threaded, straight and zig-zag stitches, around the prepped pieces edges and between their connections; and adhering it to the Ruby Red, cardstock, card face.
I then wrapped a length of Harvest Gold grosgrain ribbon, vertically, around the left half of the card face; tied it, in a bow, near the card face's top edge; and embellished it with a Pure Poppy button, laced with a duet of hemp twine bows.
Sophie was stamped, in Jet Black ink, on an ink distressed, white, cardstock, label die cut; colored in with colored pencils and mineral spirits; and dressed with hand cut shoes, prepared in the same way as above, as well as a stamped, in Basic Black ink, on a red, circle, patterned paper, and hand cut dress, which, too, had its collar and bow colored over with a white gel pen.  A couple of red gemstones make the perfect earrings, and the Kansas girl in me just couldn't resist glittering her ruby red shoes ;).  Plus, for some odd reason, I just feel Sophie needs Chocolate Chip ink freckles :).
Before the label was adhered, with foam tape, to the card face, I stamped the "Happy Thanksgiving" sentiment, in an arch and in Basic Black ink, along its right edge.
A die cut, from both mustard flourish and green, design, patterned papers, as well as Chocolate Chip cardstock, pumpkin was pieced together; adhered, in its respective location, with foam tape; and embellished with another Pure Poppy button, laced with hemp twine.
Oh!  And I've got one more little picture to show of a fun finishing touch for all your Paper Sweetie creations.  The "Hand Stamped by:" was stamped, in Basic Black ink, near the bottom edge of the back of the card.
That's all, for today, folks!  But we'll all be back, tomorrow, with more crafty goodness to celebrate the first official release for Paper Sweeties.  Woohoo!  Until then, please be sure to stop by the rest of the team's blogs to see all that they've whipped up, just for your viewing pleasure, as well as the Paper Sweeties Blog.  Oh, and remember that Debbie is offering FREE SHIPPING, at checkout, with the coupon code that can be found on the bottom of the home page of the website link above, on August 15th and 16th.  Plus, on August 16th, one lucky Facebook Fan will win two free stamp sets of their choice.  The winner will be chosen from those who have ‘liked’ our Facebook Fan Page.  So, go "like" that page right away; and happy stamping, y'all!
