Paper Sweeties: Release Party

Tuesday, August 14, 2012

Hey, y'all!  It's that time again, and today is extra special, because it comes with the release of each and every stamp set, to date, over in the Paper Sweeties Shoppe.  But before you're off to getting your inky, little fingers on some yummy enablers, I've got a couple of projects, to share with you all, today.  Enjoy!
I started this layout by adhering a strip of neutral, storybook, patterned paper, to the small, pink, gingham, base page, horizontally and just below center and anchoring it, across its top and bottom edges, with black-threaded, straight, machine stitches.  I then gave the same machine-stitched treatment, as above, to the edges of a piece of turquoise, heart, patterned paper, which was adhered to the right center of the design.  But before it was anchored with those stitches, I stamped a trio of banners, in Jet Black ink, on color-coordinating, patterned papers; hand cut them out; and filled them in with the stamped, in Jet Black ink, from top to bottom, "Happiness", "Sweetie Pie", and "Embrace Life" titles.  And y'all, these sets come with so many different sentiments, you'll have just what you need for any and all of your creative needs!
After framing my trio of photographs with Whisper White cardstock and adhering them down the vertical center of the right side of the page, I layered a kraft, "Received of" stub near the bottom left of the layout...
along with a hand cut, from patterned paper, yellow, scalloped oval and silhouette, journaling card, which I dressed up with a little pearl, rounded the top left corner of, and used to journal, You always know just how to make me smile.
Emma was stamped, in Jet Black ink, on white cardstock; colored with colored pencils and mineral spirits; hand cut out; and dressed in a turquoise nightgown, complete with a pink bunny, just like the one my daughter always has to sleep with, which, too, was stamped, in Jet Black ink, on white cardstock and hand cut out.  She even has rosy, little cheeks, but the lighting is washing her out a bit :(.  She was then adhered, with foam tape, just to the bottom right of the journaling card...
and flanked by a pink, velvet blossom; and die cut, from Pool Party cardstock, and ink distressed branch; a couple of hemp twine bows; and a star, which was stamped, in Barely Banana ink, on Barely Banana cardstock, hand cut out, and glittered.  The star comes filled in with "To: You, From: Me" text, but I opted to mask it off for a cleaner design.
Another star, prepared in the same was as above, hides behind a die cut, from white cardstock, cloud and flanks the right side of the middle photograph.
And a third dresses up two more, die cut, cardstock clouds, one of which was anchored with two, black-threaded, straight, machine stitched rows, which run the length of the top of the layout, as well as a crystal button, laced with hemp twine.
A December 16, 2010, vintage, date card was tucked under the bottom left side of the top photograph to complete the look.
And just for fun, I've got one more creation to share.
I started this card by trimming the bottom edge of a piece of bright pink and green, floral, patterned paper with a die cut, white, cardstock scallop, as well as a strip of bright blue, floral, patterned paper; framing the whole thing with Night of Navy cardstock; machine stitching, with bright-pink-threaded, straight stitches, around the created piece's edges...
and wrapping the prepped piece, just above the die cut, cardstock scallop, with a length of denim ribbon, which I tied, in a bow, near the left edge of the prepped piece and embellished with a bright pink, velvet blossom, as well as a printed, chipboard star, before adhering the entire thing, with foam tape, to the Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face.
I then stamped the "TEN" journaling sprout, which I had previously glittered, in Basic Black ink, with "Wish Big" and adhered it, vertically, just to the right of the velvet blossom.
Finally, I stamped Abigail and her flip-flops, in Jet Black ink, on white cardstock; colored her with colored pencils and mineral spirits; hand cut her out; and dressed her with jeans, which were prepared in the same way as Abigail herself, as well as an "Aloha" shirt, which was stamped, in Basic Black ink, on a green, floral, patterned paper and hand cut out.  She was adhered, with foam tape, just to the right of the sentiment, to complete the look.
That's all for today, folks!  But before you're off to getting your stamps, while they're hot, hot, HOT, please don't forget to stop by the Paper Sweeties Blog, as well as the rest of the talented Paper Sweeties designers to leave them lots of love.  Also, today's the day to take advantage of FREE SHIPPING, at checkout, with the coupon code that can be found on the bottom of the home page of the website link above.  Plus, don't forget to "like" that Facebook Fan Page for your chance to win to FREE stamp sets!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a wonderful Wednesday!
