TSTR #128

Saturday, August 25, 2012

Hey, y'all!  I know that I usually try to keep my Saturdays free from blogging, but I just had to pop in here to share about some contests, giveaways, and specials up over at the Paper Sweeties Blog.  But before I get to that and just because you stopped by ;), how about a sweet, little, papercrafted Emma?
I started this card by piecing a strip of woodgrain, patterned paper across the center of a piece of pink, damask, patterned paper; adhering the two to the Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face; and machine stitching, with coral-threaded, straight and zig-zag stitches, respectfully, around their edges and along their horizontal lengths.
I then adhered a Tea for Two tag, which was backed with a white, paper doily, with foam tape, in the center of the card face and dressed it up with a white seam binding ribbon, tied in a dressy bow and embellished with a couple of hemp twine bows; a rose tin pin...
and a stamped, in Jet Black ink, on an ink distressed, Oatmeal, cardstock, die cut banner, "Happy Birthday" sentiment.
Emma herself, as well as her flip-flops, were stamped, in Jet Black ink, on White cardstock.  She was then colored in with colored pencils and mineral spirits; hand cut out; dressed in a stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a kraft, polka dot, patterned paper, dress, which was glittered, detailed with a white gel pen, and hand cut out; and adhered, with foam tape, in the center of the embellished tag.  Finally, I gave her a little, pink, button blossom corsage, laced with a hemp twine bow, to complete the look.
Inspiration for this card came from The Shabby Tea Room's Week #128: Shabby Patterns.
