DYSU #87 & Jay Gee's Nook #23

Tuesday, September 4, 2012

Good morning, y'all!  I didn't mean to leave you all hanging yesterday, but I was having fun playing with my family and decided that my little blog-o could wait.  Now, we're back to school and work and catching up on everything that got put off amidst Monday's holiday activity, but I didn't want you all to have to wait another day for a little something creative from me.  So, without further adieu, here she is.

I started this card by piecing together the number and pink, houndstooth, patterned papers; framing them with a piece of Riding Hood Red cardstock; and machine stitching, with black-threaded, straight stitches, a double frame around their edges.

I then stamped a die cut, Basic Black, cardstock banner, in White ink, with the "A thankful HEART is a happy heart." sentiment; adhered it between the connection of two patterned papers; and wrapped a length of hemp twine, three times, around the prepped piece, just below the sentiment and tied it, in a bow, just right of center, before adhering the prepped piece, with foam tape, to the polka dot embossed and ink distressed, Crumb Cake, cardstock, card face.

A wood, typewriter embellishment, as well as a die cut, from pink and red, text, patterned paper and Chocolate Chip and Wild Wasabi cardstocks, apple, which was embellished with a Pure Poppy button, laced with hemp twine, complete the look.

Inspiration for this card came from Do You Stack Up's Challenge #87: Back to School and Jay Gee's Nook's Challenge #23.
Oh!  And I nearly forgot to share that this card was named a Winner at The Ribbon Reel!  Eeek!  Thanks so much, ladies!
That's all, for today, folks!  But I'll be back, tomorrow, to share pictures of our Labor Day weekend.  Thank you ever so much for stopping by, and have a wonderfully blessed work week!
