Let's Get Sketchy #30

Thursday, September 27, 2012

Good morning!  We're off on a little field trip in just a bit, but before that, I wanted to pop in here to share a colorful page that just makes me smile.  I hope it does the same for you :).
I started this layout by threading the holes, down the right side of a vintage, yellow, inventory sheet, with a length of orange ribbon and tying it, in a bow, through the top hole.  I then turned it on its side and adhered it near the top of the partially sanded, embossed, green, cardstock base.  I have to admit, too, that the inventory sheet was full size at 8-1/2" x 11", but I cut it in half and pieced it together to show off more of that yummy, alpha, base page.  I then stamped the "HELLO MY NAME IS" card, in Basic Black ink, with the "heaven sent" title; tucked it just to the right of the bow; and further embellished it with a hand cut, from patterned paper, and punched, note card.  I then added a reinforcement label around the note card's punched hole and laced it with a length of hemp twine.  A "me" cardstock sticker...
and a perforated, kraft sheet, which I labeled with the August 25, 2010, round out the top of the design.
Six, hand cut, from patterned paper, circles were tucked under the inventory sheet's bottom edge and anchored with black-threaded, straight, machine stitches, tied of, at either end, to the front of the page.  A trio of hand cut, from patterned paper, pennants, which were secured with more black-threaded, straight, machine stitches, anchor my row of photographs, which were framed with Whisper White cardstock.
A couple more pennants, prepared in the same way as above and paired with a yellow, striped, cardstock, sticker pennant, dress up the left side of a "Play", silhouette card.  And a "DELIGHTFUL AND SO SWEET", cardstock, sticker subtitle, as well as another hand cut circle, on top of which I layered a yellow, leaf, trinket pin; cream, doily flower; and a green button, laced with hemp twine, completes the look.
Inspiration for this layout came from Let's Get Sketchy's Challenge #30.  I've been eying their fabulous sketches and the design team's inspiration for quite some time now and am thrilled to finally have a day to play along.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and happy stamping, y'all!
