ScrapFIT #76 & The Studio Sept. 16th

Friday, September 21, 2012

Happy Friday, y'all!  We made it!  It's been such a busy week, for us, with my being gone an unheard of two nights in a row.  Then, we had our trip to Shatto Dairy Farm; and in just a bit, we'll be off to Adina's dance class.  Somehow, amidst all of that, I checked about twenty things off my to-do list and still snuck in a little creative time .
I started this page by anchoring a 10" square of gray, polka dot, patterned paper, to the center of the gray, lace, base page, with gray-threaded, zig-zag, machine stitches.
I then grounded my photographs, the top left of which had its top left corner rounded, over a couple of plain, white, paper doilies; and cut a couple of circular frames from a navy, polka dot, patterned paper.  The frames were then filled in with circles of vellum, which were stamped, in Jet Black ink, with the "love" dictionary text and secured with staples.  The frames' centers were flipped over and embellished with white, crochet flowers, anchored with sparkle brads.  The top one was lifted with foam tape.  A trio of snowflake transparencies were then tucked in amongst the prepped circles.
The bottom left photograph had a gray framed journaling card, which was used to journal, We just love when Grandma and pa come for a special visit.  Jan. 23, '10, tucked under its bottom edge.
Finally, I created the "BIRTHDAY VISIT" title from gray alphas and anchored it with gray-threaded, straight, machine stitches, to complete the look.
Inspiration for this layout came from ScrapFIT's Workout #76...
and The Studio Challenge's September 16th Sketch.
Thanks so much for stopping by, y'all, and have a a truly wonderful weekend!
