Tuesday Trigger: A Pin Therein

Friday, September 7, 2012

Happy Friday!  Even though it's been a short week, for us, with Monday's Labor Day holiday, the busyness of the week, with school and church meetings and whatnot, sure makes it feel like Friday should definitely be here.  We've also got Adina enrolled in a new round of dance classes per her request, and they start in just a bit.  But before we're off to that, I wanted to quick pop in here to share a sweet, little, baby card.  I just can't seem to put down a couple of stamp sets from last month's releases!  Enjoy!
I started this card by stamping the quilt squares, in Certainly Celery, Pool Party, and Barely Banana inks, on a 4" square of white cardstock; adhering it to the 4-1/2" square, Certainly Celery, cardstock, card base; machine stitching, with white-threaded, zig-zag stitches, around its edges and between each stamped, quilt square connection; and adding the stamped, in Jet Black ink, "Congratulations" sentiment in its bottom center.  Gosh, I cannot tell you all how much I LOVE this font!
I then wrapped a length of Pool Party, seam binding ribbon, vertically, around a vintage number card; tied it, in a dressy bow, near its top edge; and embellished it with a white button, laced with a pink and green twine bow, as well as a heart trinket pin, before anchoring the vintage number card, with foam tape, above the sentiment and near the left, stitched edge.
The top right corner of the number card was dressed up with a die cut, from a variety of color-coordinating, patterned papers, and pieced-together, hexagon flower, whose center was embellished with a crystal button, laced with white string.
Finally, I stamped the bear, in Jet Black ink, on white cardstock; colored it in with colored pencils and mineral spirits; hand cut it out; adhered it, with foam tape, center above the sentiment and just to the bottom right of the embellished bow; and gave him a few kisses of glitter, just for good measure.
Inspiration for this card came from the Tuesday Trigger: A Pin Therein in the Moxie Fab World.  Woohoo for one more week ;)!  I just couldn't resist mimicking those fabric squares and that fabulous, hexagon flower on top of the pin cushion.  Swoon!
Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a super, blessed weekend, y'all!
