CPT: Color My Week #2 & MOJO262

Tuesday, October 9, 2012

Well, hello there.  I hope you're having a fantastic start to your Tuesdays!  We don't have any big plans, for today, other than school and a little trip to the library; but somehow, we seem to fill up every spare moment and go to bed exhausted every single day.  I have no doubt that today won't be any different.  So, I'm quick popping in here to share a pretty, little number I created, using two of Stephanie Washburn's newest, Market Street Stamps stamp sets, Wild and Funky Herringbone.
I started this card by stamping the herringbone background, in Wisteria Wonder ink, on a piece of ink distressed, White cardstock; framing it with Wisteria Wonder cardstock; and machine stitching, with lavender-threaded, zig-zag stitches around its edges.
I then anchored a duet of die cut pennants the length of the design against a stamped, in White ink, with the sheet music background and ink distressed strip of Pink Pirouette cardstock, which, in turn, was anchored with lavender-threaded, straight, machine stitches.  A length of sheer, white, polka dot ribbon was then wrapped around that stamped, cardstock piece; tied, in a bow, just below horizontal center; and embellished with a crystal button, laced with a hemp twine bow, as well as a stamped, in Wisteria Wonder ink, on a White, cardstock, die cut pennant, "All good things are wild, and free." sentiment.
Finally, I stamped the feather, in Pretty in Pink, Lavender Lace, and Wisteria Wonder inks, on a piece of white cardstock; hand cut it out; ink distressed its edges; backed it with an ink distressed, Almost Amethyst, cardstock, die cut circle, which was stamped, in White ink, with the dotted circle, as well as a die cut, White, cardstock doily, all of which were separated with foam tape; and adhered, to the card face, just above the sentiment.  The entire, prepped piece was then adhered, with foam tape, to the Kraft, cardstock, card face to complete the look.
Inspiration for this card came from Creative Paper Trade's Color My Week #2 {soft and oh so girly}, which is completely out of my comfort zone, but that photo was absolutely irresistible...
and Mojo Monday's Sketch 262, which I rotated 90 degrees to the left.
Thanks so much for stopping by, y'all!  Be blessed!
