Paper Sweeties: Post Release

Monday, October 15, 2012

We're back, y'all, with one more project, highlighting Paper Sweeties' October Release.  Don't forget that everything you've seen here, throughout the release and beyond, is available, even as I type this, in the Paper Sweeties Shoppe.  Please don't leave them hanging out over there ;)!  Now, without further adieu, here's today's creation.
I started this layout by adhering a strip of soft green, star, patterned paper near the bottom of the green, typewriter keys, base pages and strips of both yellow, decor, patterned paper and Whisper White cardstock, which was stamped, in Jet Black ink, with the row of pumpkins, which were colored in with colored pencils and mineral spirits, near its top.  A punched strip of vintage, text paper preps the design for pictures.  I then punched a strip of vellum, over and over again, with the hearts; adhered it, at the base of my photograph grid, just above the punched, vintage, text paper; and anchored everything with black-threaded, straight and zig-zag, machine stitches...
before turning my attention to the left side of the layout.
A trio of kraft tags were stamped, in White ink, with the "Bountiful Blessings", "Thankful for You", and "You're a Treasure" phrases; laced with hemp twine, tied in bows; and tucked under two of the top photographs.
The soft green, framed, journaling card was adhered just to the right of the tags; used to journal, We don't always get along, and we've all gone such different directions, that I don't always feel like I belong; but gosh, I love these people!; and embellished its bottom left corner with a white, crochet flower, topped with an orange, resin blossom and flanked with a couple of die cut, from Old Olive cardstock, and ink distressed leaves.
A "Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant. ~ Robert Louis Stevenson", cardstock, sticker quote anchors the top center photograph...
and a couple of punched, from a soft green, polka dot, patterned paper, photo corners turn our attention to the right side of the layout.
I tucked a large, yellow, "STOCK CONTROL", ledger sheet under the stack of photographs and used it to journal, Thurs., Nov. 26, 2009, This was such a memorable Thanksgiving with the whole crew.  It included our traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings of which green bean casserole and cinnamon Jell-O have become my faves.  We always have such a good time just playing games, talking, laughing up a storm, and munching on leftovers and even more so, on this particular Thanksgiving, not knowing that it would be our last with Matt.  A "GOOD TIMES" tab, as well as two, stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a black, gingham, patterned paper, banners, which were anchored with green buttons, laced with hemp twine, dress up the journaling...
and the "THANKSGIVING" title, which was created from black, mini, chalkboard alphas, as well as the a perforated, kraft sheet and typewriter, cardstock sticker, anchor it.
The latter two, of the above, help frame Emma and Jake, all decked out in their pilgrim attire, as well as a turkey and another orange, resin blossom cluster.  However, this cluster traded the white, crochet flower for a couple of hemp twine bows.
All of the Sweeties were stamped, in Jet Black ink, on White cardstock; colored in with colored pencils and mineral spirits; hand cut out; and adhered, with foam tape, in their respective locations.  A couple, additional, punched, photo corners complete the look.  Oh, and I just have to leave you with a closer look of that darling turkey.  Too cute!
I'm also linking this one up to Lasting Memories' Challenge #110: Out of the Hat.  I chose die cuts, pumpkins, words/phrases, and the colors orange, yellow, and green.  That's all, for this month, folks!  Once again, please don't forget to stop by the Paper Sweeties Blog or the design team's blogs to see what else these Sweeties can do.  Then, I cannot wait to see what you all come up with!  Until next time, happy stamping, y'all!
