Paper Sweeties: Release Party

Sunday, October 14, 2012

Welcome back to Day 2 of Paper Sweeties' October Release!  I'm thrilled you all are liking what you see ;)!  Today's the big day to get all these scrumptious, fall stamp sets in the Paper Sweeties Shoppe.  Woohoo!  But before you're off to scooping up a handful for yourself, how about I show you what a few more new goodies can do?
I started this card by stamping Jake, in Jet Black ink, on a piece of Oatmeal cardstock; masking him off; and once again, stamping, but this time in Baja Breeze ink, the clouds around him.  I then colored him with colored pencils and mineral spirits and paper-piece his sweater; gave him a stamped, in Jet Black ink, on a blue and green, argyle, patterned paper, kite, who's tail was colored with colored pencils and mineral spirits and glittered; and adhered the prepped piece to the Kraft, cardstock, card face.
I then pieced together both a red and pink, alpha, patterned paper and a piece of leafy vellum on a piece of soft green, weave, patterned paper; machine stitched, with black-threaded, straight stitches, around their combined edges and die cut a label, to frame Jake, in its top center.
It was then stamped, in Jet Black ink, with the "Sending A Hug" sentiment and dressed up with a length of Riding Hood Red, taffeta ribbon, which I wrapped around both sides of the prepped piece.
The right side of the ribbon was tied in a bow and embellished with a Pure Poppy button, laced with Baker's Twine, as well as a green, leaf, trinket pin, pierced through a punched tag, which I ink distressed and stamped, in Riding Hood Red ink, with the word "Smile".  The patterned paper piece was then adhered, over the prepped, Oatmeal cardstock, with foam tape, to complete the look.
Now, while your little, inky fingers can snag all of this month's releases TODAY, we'll all still be back, at the same time and places, tomorrow, with final projects to round out the release.  Please be sure to stop by not only the Paper Sweeties Blog, but also the rest of the design team's blogs, to see what all they've cooked up just for your viewing pleasure.  And thanks so much for stopping by!  You are appreciated!
