Hey, y'all!  Welcome to the first, Sketches in Thyme sketch of October!  Gosh, I just love the way Tiffany's CAS sketches give us lots of room to get creative and really enjoy the process of making something beautiful!  Here's how this week's sketch inspired me.
I started this layout by stamping my Crumb Cake, cardstock, base page, in White ink with the doily images, in Wild Wasabi ink with the leaves, and in Jet Black ink with the text.  A row of soft green numbers was stuck in the bottom right corner of the design.
I then created those fabulous, little, patterned, paper pies and anchored them, to the base page, with both white-threaded, straight and zig-zag, machine stitches.  For more detailed information on how they were created, check out the Amazing Pie Chart Tutorial with Nicole Nowosad on the Scrapbook & Cards Today Blog.
My photographs were then framed with Whisper White cardstock, and the far right one had its bottom edge flanked with a pink, cardstock sticker, which I used to record the May 11, 2009, date.
Between the stamping and patterned, paper pie, in the top left corner of the layout, I layered a "Swing" silhouette card, which also serves as my title; a "BOSTON STORE" tag, whose string I tied in a bow; and a couple of chipboard people, which I painted with Ivory White acrylic paint, ink distressed, and glittered.  They were also topped with a pink button, laced with white string, and a green dahlia.
A little more, white-threaded, straight, machine stitching, to frame the entire layout, completes the look.
Now, it's your turn, and here's your Challenge #89 sketch to get you started.
Don't forget that you have until the close of the month, on Wednesday, October 31, 2012, to link up your takes in the right hand column of the Sketches in Thyme Blog.  I can't wait to see what you all whip up!  Thanks so much for peeking in, and happy scrapping, y'all!
