SIT #91

Welcome to Sketches in Thyme's Challenge #91!  It's time for our two-pager, y'all!  Woohoo!  You know I've got about a million pictures calling for two-pagers ;).  So, let's just get started with how I've interpreted the sketch.
I started this layout by adhering the yellow damask and plaid, patterned papers, both of which were stamped, in Ivory White, acrylic paint, with the medallion images, across the embossed and sanded, ivory, cardstock, base pages; anchored them with soft-yellow-threaded, straight and zig-zag, machine stitches, respectively; positioned the matted, with Whisper White cardstock, photo grid; and grounded it with a strip of tickets, hand cut from patterned paper.  I then turned my attention to the left side of the layout...
where I trimmed the bottom of the patterned, paper, ticket strip with a bunch of punched, from patterned papers, circles, which I topped with color-coordinating buttons, laced with hemp twine.
The "LETS CREATE!" title was created from glitter alphas and flanked with arrows, which were hand cut from patterned paper and anchored with soft-yellow-threaded, straight, hand stitches.
That turns our attention to the right side of the layout...
where I created a cluster of elements, just under the painted, medallion image, including a yellow, mini, lotto card; green, hand cut, from patterned paper, arrow; faux chipboard star, which was die cut from Whisper White cardstock, ink distressed, glittered, and embellished with a couple of hemp twine bows; as well as a felt, handmade by me, dinosaur.  I used a cookie cutter to achieve the shape of the felt dinosaur; hand stitched, with yellow floss, around its edges; and dress him up with a bunch of felt spots and a google eye.
A "TODAY'S DATE IS" label, which I filled in with Ezekiel's 6th B-day Party - July 10, 2009, and a punched, from Whisper White cardstock, tag, which I stamped, in Lucky Limeade ink, with the "Adore" sentiment and laced with a hemp twine bow, complete the look.
and Challenge Me Happy's Photo Challenge #32.  Those paper lanterns inspired the party photos, as well as the bright, happy colors, and those buttoned, circle elements on the left side of my layout.
That's all, for today, folks!  But don't think I forgot, even for a second, to leave you with this week's sketch to help get you moving along.  Have fun with it!
Don't forget that you have until the close of the month, on Wednesday, October 31, 2012, to link up your takes, on this week's Challenge #91 and/or this month's Challenge #90 and/or Challenge #89, in the right hand column of the Sketches in Thyme Blog.  Can't wait to see what y'all come up with!  Be blessed!
